My name is Alex and my relation with this class is being able to help others edit, film, and look over the mistakes and see how we can make the next shot better than the last one. Im seeking better editing skills so when I do videos for my YouTube channel I can learn more about editing than what I knew before. I dont really have a favorite movie but I do watch a lot of action type movies.

Describe the process of creating your one-shot and multi-shot films... How did you work as a group to develop what shots should be taken? How are you approaching the editing process? What have been some successes and hurdles in these first projects? How do you feel your views on film have changed now that you've had a taste of the work involved?

The process of our one-shot story was alright to be honest we could have done a little better. We spent half of the time figuring out what we were going to film, Well I listened to the person telling me what was going to be filmed and how. While one person was saying what was going to happen I just kind of listening and followed along. I think my editing needs to improve by a lot. Some of our people in our group are doing pretty good in sort of learning the stuff I don't know about adobe After Affects. Our successes were when we actually got to film what was planned. Some hurdles were we couldn't stick with what was happening and kept changing it up when ever we thought it was bad and so we would spend a good amount of time figuring it out. My views are the same still considering your planning, taking shots, and choosing what the best one is to edit.

1) Provide a logline (plot in a single sentence) for your original CJ6: Screenplay.
2) Connect what you designed for CJ7: Costume(s) to the story you created - why did you design what you designed based on the story and character(s)?
3) Tell, too, about the TV Show Pilot you filmed and edited with your group...
3a) what was it like to work with a script and
3b) what types of shot(s) do you feel brought the show to life most? Long Shot

The conflict was the other person accused someone of stealing shoes. But at the end it got resolved. I designed what I designed because I think it best resembles someone that would take shoes. Our TV Show Pilot was based on on our script we wrote, it was not that bad to work with a script although there were many flaws on how we acted. It wasn't all that bad considering it was done all correctly. The shots I feel that brought this commercial most to life was the one that we walked out the door.

Share your ups and downs of film making on your blog, and how you plan to continue to grow in the second half of the class. Do this by writing about your two biggest psychological barriers when it comes to making films? For each, provide an example of the barrier you encountered this term as well as a solution you plan to initiate in the second term to overcome this barrier. Then finish off the entry by recalling the biggest success or an ah-ha moment that you've had this term. Provide details about what made it a great moment for you and how you felt you grew from the experience.

My ups and downs were when we would edit. I continue to grow with help of partners. My big barriers is editing at times. My solution is to get more help and learn in the process. My big success would have to be when we filmed the second time around rather than my first. It was better because there was less mistakes the second time. I think I grew from this experience because I get a little better at filming each time.

Describe your experience shooting this project in the film studio with the added lighting elements. How do you feel the studio time affected your final product quality? Additionally, how did you approach the montage portion of your film. Describe what you chose to cut together and what effect you hope for it to have on your audience as a part of your "Flash Forward" film.

I think it affected it in a really good way because how it was edited in and cut to make it perfect just made it look like it was a real event captured on TV. We approached it with everything that we had written down on a piece of paper and just acted it out. I chose to cut the extra scenes that made the montage longer than it needed to be or mistakes that might have been captured.

Hitchcock is know as the Master of Suspense. Recall in detail a time when you felt a film had you most on edge--- either scared, excited, distressed, or passionate. What do you remember from the film itself (text, lighting, sound, set-up) that you believe made it truly effective? As a film maker yourself, what emotions do you think you'd be best at effecting in your audience and how do you imagine you would go about doing it?

I think that I would be effective in sound because I see myself doing an action type film where I would think sound and whatever the character is doing will go together. I would probably try to scare the audience by making scary noises.

Reflect on the term with thoughts on the “My Favorite Film” Festival and the Film 1 course overall

My overall thoughts on my favorite film are that I enjoyed helping them film it and edit a bit of it and maybe I could have cut parts of the end but other than that it was great.

In Film 1 I got a lot of help from some friends and had a lot of mistake editing in the beginning and learned a little more at the end.
