The reason why i took this class was because I want to get to learn more about cameras. I am just a kid trying to get through school. What i am looking to get out of this class is to be able to edit better then before. I am not sure what my favorite movie or TV show is so i don't really know.

Describe the process of creating your one-shot and multi-shot films... How did you work as a group to develop what shots should be taken? How are you approaching the editing process? What have been some successes and hurdles in these first projects? How do you feel your views on film have changed now that you've had a taste of the work involved?
The process of creating the one shot story was not to hard. First we had to come up with an idea. Once we had thought of what we were going to do we then set up the camera in the location and position that we needed it to be, from then on the rest was up to the actors. The multi shot story was based off the one shot story so we had already known what we were going to film. We found one position that we liked once we had that shot with that position we moved the camera to a different location and shot it from there and so on. We worked as a group in the way that everyone contributed to doing something and we all threw in ideas. The way we approach the editing process is everyone in our group edits their own version that they like and then we choose the best one. These first two projects went very well everyone was doing something and frankly everything went very well. Now i see that making an actual film is much more time taking then i had thought it would have been before I started filming them and acting and editing.

(Best Director)

You are hands down the best Director in this class because you put your effort and energy into creating the ideas and concepts for our films, you are the brain in the human body!

Consider the shots and camera movements we've defined, shot, and edited. Which is your favorite from those you captured for your commercial and why? Also, which is your least favorite shot/camera move and why? What has learning about all these shots/moves taught you about cinematography?
In my opinion the over the shoulder shot was my favorite because it have a sense of realism to the video. My least favorite shot so far was the handheld mostly because it was super shaky so for that fact we did not use it in our commercial. It has taught me that some shots are easy to make and others are much harder.

The process of making the tv show pilot went something like this. First we had to brainstorm an idea. from then we had to decide on who would be playing which part. Then the hardest part came, to actually take a video of what is going on. The story i creates had a man that was very well dressed and so i looked for the best cloths to match his outfit. the tv show pilot was about a man that was asking for his money back from one of his old friends. is was very different o work with a script mostly because we were getting used to just making it up on the go. I am not really sure what shot brought the video most to life do i cannot say for sure.

The ups and downs of film making for me were to actually go out and act out the part because sometimes it is harder then it looks to make some scenes. The plan i have to get better in this second half of the class is to just get better and faster at film editing, that is pretty much it. The problem I have with this is that is that I get distracted easily and then i end up not getting my edit done. I think my biggest success is probably my montage. I am pretty proud of what i made and hope that I am not the only one that likes it. I felt that i grew a little from making this montage because I am into photography and i also like videography. So making this montage taght me a few things that may help.

My experience with shooting with all of these different lighting elements was that the video came out much better then with just the lighting of the sun or just natural lighting. the effect i hope to have had with my montage is to show how the main character in our film has grown over time.

a lot of films have me on the edge. pretty much any action or horror movie. one for example is a show called the Haunting of Hill House. it had me on edge like this one scene had a part were the mom was haunted and it wasn't explaining everything and so it left you guessing for a second. me as a filmmaker i feel like id be best affecting in is a chill vibes kind of setting because i feel like im a pretty chill person myself.

Edward, I grant you the award of Best Film. Together, our group made the best films in class so it's only right to award one of our group members the award for Best Film.

i feel like the film festival gave some people a chance to show their potential in film making. i personally did not enjoy it because it was a lot of time wasted on my part watching all these films but maybe someone else might have enjoyed it. all in all it was a success and i think everyone did a good job.
