I am Kyle and I have a you tube channel with my friend Langston, the channels name is K & L exclusive. That is a main reason I took this class to become better at video editing and video shooting. In the future I'm hoping this class can help me to grow on you tube. As of right now we have a total of 46 subscribers, by the end of the semester I hope we can get to a total of 200 subscribers. That is a pretty reasonable goal because when we start making better videos people will begin to have more interest and we'll get more subscribers. The main thing I want to take away from this class is how to shoot a good quality video, all of our videos have something wrong with them like for example the lighting or the sound in the video will be messed up. So I want to learn how to make those things better.

When me and my group created our one-shot story we brainstormed our ideas with each other, when we got our idea we filmed it and it took us a couple takes to make. For our multi-shot story we thought of ways to expand our film and then we shot it. I'm approaching the editing process by being ready to make a lot of cuts and things like that. Some successful moments have been our one-shot story it was pretty easy to make and edit, some hurdles have been the multi-shot story it was hard to think of what we were gonna do. My views of film have changed because at first i was thinking that it was just put the camera down and film but now i know that there is a whole lot more than that.

The process of filming our tv-show pilot was a quick process. The screen writing for it was pretty easy. It took us two days to write the whole thing and input setting into our tv-show pilot. The filming of it was a little bit difficult because we weren't all the way prepared with where we were gonna film. Also we didn't have enough time to film our last scene. While we filmed we ran into some problems like our voices would echo and we couldn't speak too loud because of the classrooms near by and the library. We were not prepared for our lines so we had to make multiple takes of each scene that's the main reason we did not finish.

My favorite shot that we learned is the high angle shot because it is a unique shot that can show a lot. We did incorporate a high angle shot in our commercial. What we did was squatted down and had our "Chains from Hanks" laying on the ground in front of us. My least favorite shot is the long shot because when were recording and we use the long shot we have to speak louder and the camera can't really see the action that well. All the different shots taught me a lot about cinematography because I had no idea that there were names for different shots and I didn't know there was this many different ones.

My two biggest physiological barriers are probably not making enough narrative content and worrying about failure. About the not making enough narrative content, when we were writing the screenplay kick start I didn't think about how much dialog we actually need to have a decently long video. Also I wasn't thinking about the setting and the main story of the video, I kept getting off topic and having to drift back on topic. Next term I'm gonna focus harder on making the main story a priority and focus on going into details on my storytelling. For worrying about failure I wanted to be the best and have the best or funniest story so I was focusing to much on that and not even making a story. Next term I will focus more on the story telling and not so much having the best or funniest videos. The biggest success from this term was my commercial. When we were filming it I didn't think it was gonna turn out that good, but when I go to edited it I realized that it actually was pretty good.

Shooting our scene in the studio din't really do much for our film because we only needed to say a couple words in the time. For the montage portion in our film, it's pretty simple just put pictures of cars and car crashes. That's all we need for our montages. Hopefully my montage will give the audience an idea of the car accident.

I remember I was watching this one scary movie called devils gate and the cops thought he kidnapped his wife and kid. The film made it seem that way too, but actually he captured an alien the kidnapped the wife and kid. That was the most suspenseful thing i seen in a film. The angles and the context of things were the biggest thing that helped it be suspenseful. If i was a film maker then i'd use scary things to make suspense in the audience.
