I wanted to be in this class because I wanted to know what needs to be done to edit a big time film like Star Wars because the very first star wars films were way advanced for its time. There was so much detail put into into the movie that was made in the 70's is incredible. Like it is 2018 and i can barely film something with a way more advanced camera than the creators of star wars can because they have more practice doing and i might want to get in the industry of film making. My favorite movie series is probably Star Wars because there are so many details put into the film it is remarkable.

Describe the process of creating your one-shot and multi-shot films... How did you work as a group to develop what shots should be taken? How are you approaching the editing process? What have been some successes and hurdles in these first projects? How do you feel your views on film have changed now that you've had a taste of the work involved?

When you are creating a one shot story you just have to put the camera in the area where you need it, do the the skit, and then stop it. But for the multi shot story you have to put the camera in one area film the part cut it move to the next area and then repeat. How my group developed how we were gonna film was we thought of areas that would make good cuts and it turned out OK. I approach the editing process by making the clips shorter where they need to be for a clean cut and edit. Some successes is that we are usually are able to to the part in one to two attempts which makes it a lot easier for us to find the clips later and for us to be more efficient while editing. Some hurdles is that we laugh a lot while filming and that can waste some good clips. My view on film is that it is really hard because those are like an hour and a half long and it is a lot of work for just a couple of minutes of film.

Consider the shots and camera movements we've defined, shot, and edited. Which is your favorite from those you captured for your commercial and why? Also, which is your least favorite shot/camera move and why? What has learning about all these shots/moves taught you about cinematography?

I liked the zoom in camera action the most because it brings the person to appear to be getting closer when in reality the camera is zooming in to make them closer. My least favorite shot is the long shot because you can't really see what the person is doing from that far. The shots have taught me that it is important to have different shots in your film to make it look better because if the camera stayed in the same area for a long time the film will get boring.

Reflect on the process of creating your TV Show Pilot: 1) Provide a logline (plot in a single sentence) for your original CJ6: Screenplay. 2) Connect what you designed for CJ7: costume(s) to the story you created - why did you design what you designed based on the story? 3) Tell, too, about the TV Show Pilot you filmed and edited with your group... 3a) what was it like to work with a script and 3b) what types of shot(s) do you feel brought the show to life most?

The plot of my Pilot was that a boy got his phone stolen and has to find who stole it by asking around. What i created was a boy who was wearing a stylish outfit just like it was described as in the story because Bill was described as being stylish. The film we edited was a boy and a girl going to a new ice cream shop and trying it even though there is only three flavors. It was easier working with a scripted because you know exactly what to say and not have to think on the spot I thought the POV shots brought the film to life the most because it showed what they were looking at from there angle.

Share your ups and downs of film making on your blog, and how you plan to continue to grow in the second half of the class. Do this by writing about your two biggest psychological barriers when it comes to making films? For each, provide an example of the barrier you encountered this term as well as a solution you plan to initiate in the second term to overcome this barrier. Then finish off the entry by recalling the biggest success or an ah-ha moment that you've had this term. Provide details about what made it a great moment for you and how you felt you grew from the experience.

My ups this semester is I learned what goes into making a film which I feel s good to know because if you watch a movie you don't like just to know that there was a lot of work put into making a film and I don't really have any downs. I plan to go by challenging my self to make harder edits and make take less time to edit the films. If I can do this I will be a good editor. The most successful thing I've done this term is edit about 5 videos that I thought to be very successful. This is also good for me because going into the year i had edited 0 videos and me being able to edit about 5 is really good.

Describe your experience shooting this project in the film studio with the added lighting elements. How do you feel the studio time affected your final product quality? Additionally, how did you approach the montage portion of your film. Describe what you chose to cut together and what effect you hope for it to have on your audience as a part of your "Flash Forward" film.

The lighting was perfect the whole time inside in the studio because there was light in all the areas and outside there could be clouds ruining the lighting in the middle of the shot. I feel like it made the whole video look more professional that there was good lighting. I approach the montage by ending each clip with a superimposition so the montage is smooth.I try to do everything from making the clips flow well if that was cutting then I had to cut it.

Hitchcock is know as the Master of Suspense. Recall in detail a time when you felt a film had you most on edge--- either scared, excited, distressed, or passionate. What do you remember from the film itself (text, lighting, sound, set-up) that you believe made it truly effective? As a film maker yourself, what emotions do you think you'd be best at effecting in your audience and how do you imagine you would go about doing it?

A time that i was at the edge of my seat is when i was watching a show last night called Manifest where there was a bomb about to go off and the people were still inside so i was waiting to see if they'd make it out. The part where it was suspenseful it was very dark and they didn't know where the exit was so they were running around frantically to find there way out and it made it effective. I feel like the best genre I would effect is comedy because it is fun to make comedies and i would do this by making jokes.

Best Comedy Actor, you always made a film funny and you had the best natural reactions.

Thoughts on "My Favorite Film Festival" and the film 1 course overall
What I thought about the film festival was that most of the films were really funny because most people chose their favorite ones and most of them were very funny so I enjoyed the film festival as a whole was very enjoyable. I also really enjoyed this class because it was really fun to film and edit the films.
