My name is Mario N., I'm pretty sure I didn't even choose to be in this class but then again I might have as I have pretty bad memory of anything. I'm in the 11th grade right now and after high school I am undecided on what I'm going to do, but it will probably have to do something with cars or science. My favorite show is Hunter x hunter (the x is silent). I don't really have an interest in film making right know but that may change overtime like most things i like or don't like.

As a group we decided to take up close shots which would shift to the next main focus and then we would cut. after that we would start filming on the main focus of that shot and then repeat that with two different angles. when it comes to editing i have done nothing yet because somebody didn't film the scenes but filmed everything in between scenes. some hurdles I have faced from these projects is the editing (obviously not the current one though). the actual filming part of film class is what I enjoyed the most but i still don't really like anything else in this class.

Consider the shots and camera movements we've defined, shot, and edited. Which is your favorite from those you captured for your commercial and why? Also, which is your least favorite shot/camera move and why? What has learning about all these shots/moves taught you about cinematography?

I enjoyed filming zoom in shots the most because they always look funny. my least favorite of all the shots we've done is the oblique shot because i had to lay down in the grass and my clothe got dirty.all the filming with all these different shots has taught me that cinematography is very time consuming and needs to be done precisely, because if something is even a little off you can see it easily and how badly it affects the entire film. and so you are forced to do those shots multiple times to make sure you got it just right.

Reflect on the process of creating a TV Show Pilot:
1) Provide a logline (plot in a single sentence) for your original CJ6: Screenplay.
2) Connect what you designed for CJ7: Costume(s) to the story you created - why did you design what you designed based on the story and character(s)?
3) Tell, too, about the TV Show Pilot you filmed and edited with your group...
3a) what was it like to work with a script and
3b) what types of shot(s) do you feel brought the show to life most?

my TV pilot from cj6 was about a married couple unhappy couple having an argument. herald my protagonist wore a mechanic jumpsuit because in a show where the husband is wearing a mechanic jumpsuit and is in a bad relationship with his wife it, most people recognize what kind of character i'm trying to go for. for the tv pilot they went for (absent for filming :(
) the theme of it was kind of every day life like the sitcom Seinfeld. my favorite clip from the TV pilot is when they were running through the hallways back and forth as it showed of the comedy aspect of the pilot well.

Share your ups and downs of film making on your blog, and how you plan to continue to grow in the second half of the class Do this by writing about:
1) What are your two biggest psychological barriers when it comes to making films? For each, provide an example of the barrier you encountered this term as well as a solution you plan to initiate in the second term to overcome this barrier.
2) Then finish off the entry by recalling the biggest success or an ah-ha moment that you've had this term. Provide details about what made it a great moment for you and how you felt you grew from the experience.

I think that 2 psychological barriers I've faced this term have been the narrative part of film making and and worrying about failing or getting a bad grade on the film. almost every aspect of the story in the films my group have done, I've had very little to do with. i'm not very good when it comes to altering a story I haven't made (none of ideas have been used in any of the films). I can make up a story easy but because none of my ideas have been used I can't really help much in that department. and when we are filming if we can't film everything right in the amount of time we have I think its my fault since most of the time I'm the camera man and deciding the shots. so if it takes to long i think its my fault for messing up the shot and having to do another take. and I know its not always my fault because my group members do mess up the takes sometimes.

The biggest ah-ha moment i had during this term was learning how to move the camera, like how tilt or pan with the camera oh and also finding the zoom in and out button. I forgot most of the stuff Mr.Hanks showed us on the day of filming and I didn't ask for him to show me except the zoom in and out button. on the first day of filming i only knew the on and off button. but L eventually learned the other stuff. 😁

Describe your experience shooting this project in the film studio with the added lighting elements. How do you feel the studio time affected your final product quality? Additionally, how did you approach the montage portion of your film. Describe what you chose to cut together and what effect you hope for it to have on your audience as a part of your "Flash Forward" film.

The lighting in my opinion made the shots look more professional. I feel that the studio effected the quality by again making it look more professional, and by adding the lighting it gave some focus to cal in the shot. I haven't finished yet but i hope that my flash forward will have a sense of loss and accomplishment. And maybe some cringe

Hitchcock is know as the Master of Suspense. Recall in detail a time when you felt a film had you most on edge--- either scared, excited, distressed, or passionate. What do you remember from the film itself (text, lighting, sound, set-up) that you believe made it truly effective? As a film maker yourself, what emotions do you think you'd be best at effecting in your audience and how do you imagine you would go about doing it?

the film that i can remember that had me most on edge was "Dunkirk". the lighting was always dim and when it wasn't it was focus on a single target. When i was watching the film i felt distressed most of the time. to created a suspenseful feeling in the audience i would not put any focus with the lighting on anything then when i want the suspense to end i would focus the lights on the main thing on screen.

You deserve the best director award because of how well you directed our group in every project. Without you we would have had Angel be the director, and you know what happens when hes the director.

Mario, I nominate you for the best cameraman because the ideas you had for the camera were amazing. I liked how when you did handheld you had a study hand it was as if the camera was on the tripod. You are the #1 camera man bud. It's been a good run.
