I am in this class for two reason, to have fun and to make films. I wanna make awesome films that make sense, and I am seeking knowledge on how to edit. I plan on making some really cool videos in the future so I need to learn to edit, and edit well. My favorite movie would have to be the Lego movie, as its animation was really cool and I am very interested in Lego.

Describe the process of creating your one-shot and multi-shot films... How did you work as a group to develop what shots should be taken? How are you approaching the editing process? What have been some successes and hurdles in these first projects? How do you feel your views on film have changed now that you've had a taste of the work involved?

The process of making the film was difficult. We kept getting distracted and interrupted due to being in a hall way. We worked as a group because we had to tell the camera lady what we were going to do so she knew where to look.I approach the editing process by putting all the stuff in then organizing it as I go.Some hurdles would be we kind of just wing it as we go. A success is that we make it work, and still get a decent film out of it. My view on film has changed because it has shown it is a lot harder to make a film than it looks.

Consider the shots and camera movements we've defined, shot, and edited. Which is your favorite from those you captured for your commercial and why? Also, which is your least favorite shot/camera move and why? What has learning about all these shots/moves taught you about cinematography?

I liked the extreme close up, just because it was fun to do and it made it more interesting to watch.My least favorite was the oblique shot because in general I thought it was't all that useful. I haven't found the right moment for it. This has taught me that cinematography has a lot of work in it and is way more complicated than I originally imagined.

Reflect on the process of creating your TV Show Pilot: 1) Provide a logline (plot in a single sentence) for your original CJ6: Screenplay. 2) Connect what you designed for CJ7: costume(s) to the story you created - why did you design what you designed based on the story? 3) Tell, too, about the TV Show Pilot you filmed and edited with your group... 3a) what was it like to work with a script and 3b) what types of shot(s) do you feel brought the show to life most?

The plot of the film was to be the origin story for the product, Happy Tape. This has been a running theme throughout some of our other videos, like the commercial we made. I designed the image of Rob, our main villain, to be menacing and creepy. It didn't quite show through in the film though. The film we made as a group, was interesting to say the least. It didn't go exactly to the script, but we made due with it. Over all it was a good film. Some of the shots I feel brought the film to life were the fast motion, because it sped up what would have otherwise been a really boring opening.

Share your ups and downs of film making on your blog, and how you plan to continue to grow in the second half of the class. Do this by writing about your two biggest psychological barriers when it comes to making films? For each, provide an example of the barrier you encountered this term as well as a solution you plan to initiate in the second term to overcome this barrier. Then finish off the entry by recalling the biggest success or an ah-ha moment that you've had this term. Provide details about what made it a great moment for you and how you felt you grew from the experience.

Some of the ups of making films in this class are that I know know how to properly use the camera and the editing software. I can do things like montages and stories. Some of the downs are that sometimes the film doesn't turn out how it planned and ends up being hard to make usable. Some of the psychological barriers are things like not wanting to screw up on screen and having no one understand how the events should go. An example of not wanting to screw up is when I accidentally cursed so we had to restart, because we didn't know how to bleep it out. An example of how to overcome this is to restrain myself and to think about what is happening. An example of no one knowing how the story was supposed to go is when we made our scripted stories. Some of the settings were changed because no one read the script. An example of how to over come this barrier would be that I make everyone read the script so that they know where we are going. The biggest Ah-Ha moment I had was when I figured out how to properly use the text in after effects. It helped me so I could make stories better and so I could put in credits.

Write a response to this unit’s essential question(How do WWII era films change the way we use cinematic language?). Use moments of success and challenge from the learning activities to exemplify your understanding.

The way films from the world war 2 era changed the way we use cinematic language is it film directors used lighting in a way it had never been used. They used lighting to change moods and to show people.how the scenes were meant to feel. An example is we used red and blue to show good and bad, and we put it over the villain and the good guy.

Hitchcock is know as the Master of Suspense. Recall in detail a time when you felt a film had you most on edge--- either scared, excited, distressed, or passionate. What do you remember from the film itself (text, lighting, sound, set-up) that you believe made it truly effective? As a film maker yourself, what emotions do you think you'd be best at effecting in your audience and how do you imagine you would go about doing it?

The film that had me most on edge was probably the original saw. It had me very interested yet disgusted, because I'm not a fan of gore. I remember how it was always dark and the characters always seemed to be in a horrible state. As a film maker, I believe I can most make the audience laugh. That is what I find to be the easiest and the most fun to work on. I imagine it would happen by understanding that humor is based off of dark things, like mortality.

I would give you the Best Ongoing Film because you were able to keep the happy tape shots entertaining and exciting. Especially the parts where you would add in extra shots that made it more funny. Keep up the great work! :)

This is my final blog, and I am sad to leave this class. I have made many fond memories and have enjoyed this class thoroughly. We had some fun events, like the genre cross over and the commercial. At the end we had a film festival and I am now going to go over it as a final memory. We viewed each persons favorite film, and we found multiple treasures. All the videos were amazing, but I am going to review mine. My thought process behind it was to make a fight scene, and add some music to it. I chose my favorite song, Universal collapse, because it is an amazing song, and it fits the scene super well. It is a song with no lyrics though, so it was less distracting and allowed you to focus more on the scenes. We had some interesting moments recording it, and it was fun. This class as a whole has been really fun, and I am going to miss this class.
