Film is really interesting and hopefully in the future i can have some skill in video and editing. I think that the way things work can be hard to put together and by the end it would look good, which is why it interests me. I have a lot of favorite movies, but one of my most favorite is Pitch Perfect. I really like the musical parts and the comedy going on and everything matches well.

Describe the process of creating your one-shot and multi-shot films... How did you work as a group to develop what shots should be taken? How are you approaching the editing process? What have been some successes and hurdles in these first projects? How do you feel your views on film have changed now that you've had a taste of the work involved?

In the beginning, i looked for my clips that we used from the camera and dragged them into after effects. I had to cut some clips, put music in it, and add a title and credits. At the end I rendered my video. As a group, we found some clips that we all thought were good or clips that we thought didn't have any mess ups. We're approaching the editing process by taking in all our clips and going through some work in making it all one. Some successes in these first edits have been putting them together clip after clip and having it fit well. I think i like film a
slight bit better now that i understand just a small portion of it.

(Best Actor)

I feel this way because of everybody in your group you're the one who's taking it seriously and keeping a straight face during the filming process.

An award I'll give you is Best funny person on set..... You deserve this award because you always bring everybody's spirit up while we film and always made it more fun.

Consider the shots and camera movements we've defined, shot, and edited. Which is your favorite from those you captured for your commercial and why? Also, which is your least favorite shot/camera move and why? What has learning about all these shots/moves taught you about cinematography?

My favorite shot from my commercial is either the medium shot or the full body shot because it shows almost everything and then you can get an idea of everyone's posture and expressions. My least favorite was the oblique shot. It looked weird and awkward to have the camera at a strange angle. Learning about all these shots taught me that there's a lot going into camera angles and the theme.

Reflect on the process of creating your TV Show Pilot: 1) Provide a logline (plot in a single sentence) for your original CJ6: Screenplay. 2) Connect what you designed for CJ7: costume(s) to the story you created - why did you design what you designed based on the story? 3) Tell, too, about the TV Show Pilot you filmed and edited with your group... 3a) what was it like to work with a script and 3b) what types of shot(s) do you feel brought the show to life most?

The story I created was about a teen who had a crazy mom. When she was telling her friend about her problem, they kept asking questions until the mom came around. The costume I chose was simple and just regular clothes instead of something complicated or intense. The TV show pilot that i filmed with my group was about an ice cream parlor that only had three flavors and the characters were upset about it. At the end, one the characters got asked to be a valentine but rejected him because she already had a boyfriend. The script seemed easy depending on your part. I was an extra so there was really nothing for me to say. I feel that the over the shoulder shots made the film better.

Share your ups and downs of film making on your blog, and how you plan to continue to grow in the second half of the class. Do this by writing about your two biggest psychological barriers when it comes to making films? For each, provide an example of the barrier you encountered this term as well as a solution you plan to initiate in the second term to overcome this barrier. Then finish off the entry by recalling the biggest success or an ah-ha moment that you've had this term. Provide details about what made it a great moment for you and how you felt you grew from the experience.

Some ups with film for me since I've started using After Effects is that I've been more creative with things, such as school work, my ideas, and literally anything else that I can use creativity with. I feel like it's a brain exercise which is helping me out. Another up to film is that learning about different shots and messing around with clips that my group and I take are really fun to edit, or learn. Some downs to film is that a few things are little complicating, and if you make a small mistake the whole video looks weird and I don't want to mess up, and looking for shots and putting them together can be frustrating depending on what i'm creating. I plan on using more time in class on After Effects so i can make good videos that go clip after clip smoothly. My biggest success on After Effects probably had to have been when I got the audio to sound good. I had the back ground music loud enough to hear it, but quiet so you can hear the dialogue, which is sometimes hard to balance out but it's been good for me usually.

Describe your experience shooting this project in the film studio with the added lighting elements. How do you feel the studio time affected your final product quality? Additionally, how did you approach the montage portion of your film. Describe what you chose to cut together and what effect you hope for it to have on your audience as a part of your "Flash Forward" film.

The added lighting made the videos seem more professional and the shots look clearer. I thought it was really good for the films. For the montage portion of the film we combined our shots but specifically in chronological order so it goes by with the years. I hope it brings out the basic idea of the whole story line.

Reflect on the term with thoughts on the “My Favorite Film” Festival and the Film 1 course overall

For "My Favorite Film", my presentation definitely could've been way better, but the video itself wasn't bad. This whole semester it's been fun working with others in filming, and helped with leadership and teamwork. sometimes editing videos can be fun too, but when it's a long or stressful video, it gets to the point where i just dont want to do it. But other than stressing about projects, this class has been fun for me. :)
