My name is Lennon, I am very conflicted on what i want to be or do in the future. At the moment i'm thinking between something with psychology, because i'm very interested in how different people's brain works. I'm also very interested in the film industry, ever since i was little I loved editing and making videos. I am taking this class to find out if i really would be interested in this in my future. In my free time i usually take snippets of videos and make edits of them for fun. I hope i gain more knowledge on editing so i can make my videos better. I'm also really interested in RCTV, and this is the first step!

How do film-makers develop and convey stories within the mise-en-scène?
1) Give a fact from early film-making that inspired our work these last few weeks.
2) Define and describe at least one concept regarding the Elements of Art that artists use while creating their films.
3) Also, consider the art works you filmed and edited; discuss your experience filming with a group and editing using new software.
4) How, if at all, has your point-of-view shifted in regard to the art of film-making?

1.A fact that i found interesting was that back then there was not any dialogue and just background music. This is what inspired our One Shot story, but now we are progressively gaining more dialogue.
2. I think they use texture so it will catch the audiences eye, such as the moon from ' Trip to the Moon', you can see the bumps to make the moon look more realistic.
3. I am so far more interested in film then i've been in a long time, working with a group is very fun and it's interesting learning more on how to edit.
4. Yes it has, it made me realize that film is much more then taking some videos and trimming them up, so much goes into film and i'm excited to learn more.

1) I like the zoom in because it makes audience only focus on the object and person the camera is zooming in on. It can also make the scene dramatic depending on what you're going for.

2)My least favorite camera angle is over-the-shoulder because i feel the back of the persons head is a little distracting from the scene .

3)Learning about these angles has taught me that certain angles can really depict on what kind of tone of mood you will have for your film.

4.I feel like the shot type and editing contribute to the feeling of the film and it makes the story line more put together.

1.Montages are shots put together to tell a story to the audience without saying anything at all, but they are all pieced together to make it easy to understand what is going on. Continuity is where choices are made to maximize the story telling.

2.We used montage as the girls tried making basketball shots but they kept missing the shot, this tells the audience that they are bad at basketball.

3.I am still not the best at editing but i think i've gotten a lot better on planning what and where were gonna shoot and what people should do in said shots.

1) .I think i care way too much about what people would think about my film. I am very afraid of people not liking so it holds me back from giving my 100% effort.
2). For the scripts we did, i spent way too much time worrying about what should be in it and what my characters should say. I ended up typing way too much so i know people would understand what i'm trying to put together in the script. After realizing i typed way too much that had nothing had nothing to do with the actual story. After that i deleted like 50% of the script to make it more understandable.
3). My biggest aha moment was when we were showing our One shot stories on the projector and when mine was chosen there was no footage. there was just a black screen with the music i chose for it playing in the background. I thought it was very embarrassing at the time but looking back at it i think its funny. I now know not to only render the music and to actually render the whole film.

1) Having a good image in my head of what I really want for the film makes editing and production a lot easier. Once i have a good vision for it in my head, it's easy to make it a reality.
2) Filming and creating the flashbacks has made it more interesting for me and it lets me create new ideas for what could have happened in the past to make them be where they are now.
3) Being in a more professional environment like the studio has made everyone push even harder in the effort factor because the equipment makes the film feel all put together.

Overtime, after the first genres were created, more and more producers created more ideas.

1)Film noir was created because audiences were hungry for films about depression.
2)Its not used that much today, but I can see the drama from film noirs being used today.

3)We are using Film Noir, Horror and Comedy. We are taking bits of technique and ideas from these types of genres and adding it to our story.
