How do film-makers develop and convey stories within the mise-en-scène?
1) I would say the One-Shot Story Project was entirely based of the fact that the Lumière Brothers would film once and wouldn't move the camera.
2) I would say Value plays a large role in cinema. I say that since Value is entirely light based and in order to really capture the mood of a scene you must have the ambience portrayed well.
3) In all honesty filming and editing my own films was a really fun and educational experience I just found that it proved difficult to work with others who disagreed with the direction of the film making. Adding to the fact that a lot of the scenes were ruined by noises that would have to be meticulously edited out during the editing process.
4) If anything I would say my appreciation for my favorite films have grown knowing how hard it is to film each scene with unexpected things and situations occurring, in addition to the long editing process.

Why is cinema both the most realistic and also the most artificial of the arts?
1) I would say my favorite shot from editing my commercial was the pan from the shady man to the actor waiting on the bench since it captured the movement of both actors and giving off a sense of realism to the film.
2) My least favorite shot is Handheld since the camera is usually shaking while filming the movements of the actor.
3) There is a lot work put into the process of both filming the scenes and editing them and compiling them into the masterpiece that is your work.
4) If your shots aren't too diverse and different, there's only so much you can do with the story and the plot, it'll wind up feeling bland and repetitive.

How do filmmakers utilize the theory of montage as a part of cinematic language? And, how does this compare to continuity editing's voice in the cinematic language?
1) Montage is a culmination of shots to show either a cause and effect of something, or to establish a story.
2) The way I manipulated montage in my TV Show Pilot was when I showed the cause and effect of having my main characters realize they forgot something and their reactions afterward.
3)My writing for the scripts became more organized rather than being an idea and just building upon it as I go, my filming has improved a bit with the fact that whenever I film my shots are typically predetermined and I already have an idea for what shots I want and need.

The ups and downs of your film making so far and how you plan to continue to grow in the second half of the class.
1) 2 of my biggest psychological barriers would have to be thinking of the dialogue/typing too much and not getting creative and being experimental with my work.
2) I'll start typing up the dialogue and will constantly rewrite them because at the time it wouldn't please me enough and I wouldn't be content with it, it also restricted me from experimenting with my dialogue while filming which would cause me to 'stick to the script'. But one thing I've done to help eliminate that problem is improvising a lot throughout the filming process, even if I don't want to
3)The most success I've gotten from improvising would be on my commercial project, it turned out very nicely and I enjoyed how the final product was.

Consider your likeness to Orson Welles as he broke the rules and invented new ones to rise to fame as one of the Golden Age of Hollywood's most impressive directors.
1) My design of organization and script writing has changed and adapted to whatever sort of film I'm attempting to re-create, it's become more consistent.
2) My choice of audio and sound effects have become more determined rather than random and impulsive.
3) It has helped me be able to change the mood and ambiance of my films and projects.

What spurned the growth of various genres in mid-20th Century and how do they influence filmmakers today?
1) The fantasy genre of movies was made to explore and experiment with different ideas and extend our creative thinking when it came to cultivating and developing a film.
2) Well fantasy movies and television shows are a constant and normal thing in everyday media, most television shows and films are fantasy based.
3) I am combining elements of noir, fantasy, and horror into my film due to the fact that the genres compliment one another and add to the narrative.
