My name is Shelly and I enjoy painting, art, photography, and film making. I make paintings that I take pride in because they take hours or days. It is a lot of hard work to make them as perfect as I can. I also like to do photography, like taking pictures of the sunset and flowers or at least any scenery that I am around. I also like to make and edit my own videos. Even when I am not inspired at the moment I keep thinking to myself about all of the things I can do. When I am at my highest and my lowest. It is good to take pride with everything you do because it is something you did and accomplished.

How do film-makers develop and convey stories within the mise-en-scène?
One of the first movies ever made inspired our work because the first move only had one shot to make the whole film so if we messed up we would have had to redo the whole shot over again. Artists have to use angles and if they don't have the right angle that could mess up the shot and they would have to re shoot the shot they just did. The people I filmed with were amazing and we messed up a couple of times but we didn't get mad at each other or bring each other down. But doing the editing was a challenge for me because I haven't used anything like this so it was a challenge for me to learn about the new software. My point-of-view has shifted because when I was filming it was harder than I expected. But to me editing is the hardest for me because I don't know how to do somethings that I would want to edit into the film.

Why is cinema both the most realistic and also the most artificial of the arts?
I think the shot when I was running out of the doors and how it continued outside for one of my group mates grabbed my arm because I like how it was continued and how I edited it. I think my least favorite shot was when I ran into the wall and fell because I kept messing up on the shot and after a while it started to hurt because of how many times I had to redo the shot. The things I learned about the shots will be helpful for any other films that we do because when i know what the shots are it is easier to film and edit. I think the shots and editing played into the "reality" of the film because while I was editing it made the film look better and it made it look more professional.

How do filmmakers utilize the theory of montage as a part of cinematic language? And, how does this compare to continuity editing's voice in the cinematic language?
A montage is when there are multiple pictures or video clips put together. Sometimes they are all next to each other or they would fade into eachother like and edit of something. When were filming we made a montage of the crime scene we had. First we showed the dead body, then we showed the police tape, and last we showed the bloody weapon. We have been better at script writing and acting since the beginning of the term.

One psychological barrier for me is failure because when we film I always worry too much because I don't want to mess up. Another psychological barrier for me is humility.Everybody makes mistakes no matter what. But if you keep worrying about it, it will only get worse. So instead of thinking about what could happen, just think about being creative with your work. Sometimes I get nervous about being on camera because I don't think I'm a good actor just forgetting my lines. But I know its not true because of the people I work with are encouraging and it helps me to not think about everything that might humiliate me. And doing that helps be become a better actor. I think I have became a better actor because of the people I work with and understanding the mistakes that I make. When I do worry about anything, I try to get my mind off of it and think about the good things that I am doing. That can help boost people's confidence and help them become better actors.

Consider your likeness to Orson Welles as he broke the rules and invented new ones to rise to fame as one of the Golden Age of Hollywood's most impressive directors.

One thing I have discovered over the course of making a number of short films is the camera moves and shots. Pre-production and filming the flash forward project had helped me expand my creativity in film making because we can film whatever our minds put us to. We can be as creative as we want with our films. Filming with the studio has helped with our creativity because we have the resources for the lighting to make our films more dramatic and funny.
