I'm just a kid trying to find my way like everybody else. I'm trying new things and this class is the beginning of my experience with activities in the direction I want to go.

After two+ weeks in Film 1, how do you feel your views on film have changed? In regard to the artistic aspect of film? In regard to the work involved in pre-production, filming, and editing?

I've began to notice the different camera angles and how they affect the story. I have also noticed the amount of effort put into editing films and have appreciated it much more.

Consider the shots and camera movements we've defined, shot, and edited. Which is your favorite from those you captured for your commercial and why? Also, which is your least favorite shot/camera move and why? What has learning about all these shots/moves taught you about cinematography?

My favorite shot we've captured for the commercial would probably be a close up or an extreme close up because zooming in on peoples face's is fun. My least favorite shot would probably be the over the shoulder because it's difficult to make it look good. These shots have taught me the wide array of angles.

Describe your perception and understanding of how film is a unique artistic language. Give a specific example from one of the films you have created in this class thus far.

Film is a very amazing artistic language because everything comes to life after preparation and I love seeing it in action. I liked seeing our mellowdrama come to life because seeing Anthony in a wig was great. It was also a strange script to read but we went along with the whole making fun of Trump thing. He got tripped in the end by Obama which is how it should be in real life.(just saying)

This class is pretty fun. I got a deeper look into film than I thought I would. Actually studying the aspects of film and the things we use in our videos really help. I pay attention to how films are edited now and appreciate it. Editing videos is what I look forward to. Being able to manipulate the shots in anyway you want, and adding a song that can change the whole tone of the video. I need to watch Metropolis still and actually pay attention because it seems like a really good movie.

I excited that you enjoy the edited so much and that you're noticing the art of editing in the media you watch. I hope you continue to build on your work over the next few projects to make them really shine.

Describe your experience shooting this project in the film studio with the added lighting, camera, and sound equipment. How do you feel the studio time affected your final product quality

The lighting is very useful and one little change can completely alter the tone of your shots. The covers that go on the light that shines on the back are pretty cool. The studio makes everything feel more professional but we continue to get light stands in the background.

Soon, you'll be pitching an idea for a feature film in this class. What genre do you think you'll focus your creativity on? Why are you drawn to this genre? What do you find most interesting about this genre? What would you hope others would get from your work if you were to create films in this genre?

I really love documentaries on political issues and such (Michael Moore's work). I just love documentary films because it's crazy to see the real world. I probably won't pitch an idea for this genre unless it's something I'm passionate about and is interesting for everyone. I would just want to share experiences with other people.

"Best Freshman", because you act like an upperclassmen and take what you do in this class very seriously unlike many other freshman I've come across in my four years of being here. You have great ideas for your films and I always see you filling in where you need to be. I know we don't really talk, but I still respect you a lot. Good luck, you're gonna go far kid. ;)
