My name is Artem and I am a freshman. I had always been interested in filming and editing videos and making cool edits. Therefore, I think that this class will help me in the future to be more creative and create cool things. This class will help understand how to edit and make videos. I will also get more knowledge about the history of film and many cool things about it. I hope that this class will help me in the future when I will want to do something with film.

How do filmmakers develop and convey stories within the mise-en-scène? - - Describe the process of creating your one-shot and multi-shot films... How did you work as a group to develop what shots should be taken? How are you approaching the editing process? What have been some successes and hurdles in these first projects? How do you feel your views on film have changed now that you've had a taste of the work involved?

Filmmakers develop and convey stories within the mise-en-scene by figuring out what needs to be filmed and what is important. The stories they create, they need to think about everything that is going to need to be filmed and put in the shot. When creating my own one shot story and multi shot story me and my group had to decide from what areas we need to film. It was important to film the angles that make the film look good. In the editing process, I am approaching it good and I am figuring out how to edit and make different things. Some successes have been that I know how to edit the clips and make them how I want it to be. Some hurdles have been that I may have a hard time moving some things. I feel like film is very interesting and fun to work with. it is fun the film and then be able to edit and make it cool.

Consider the shots and camera movements we've defined, shot, and edited. Which is your favorite from those you captured for your commercial and why? Also, which is your least favorite shot/camera move and why? What has learning about all these shots/moves taught you about cinematography?

My favorite shot that I filmed in my commercial is high angle because it is interesting to see the shot from above. You are able to see how it is above the subject. My least favorite shot is extreme close up because it is very close and doesn't look right. What I have learned about cinematography, it has taught me that capturing the perfect shot may be difficult and can take a lot of time.

Reflect on the process of creating a TV Show Pilot: Provide the log line for your original screenplay and connect your costume designs and ad campaign to the story you created... why did you design what you designed based on the story? Tell, too, about the TV Show Pilot you filmed and edited with your group... what was it like to work with a script and what types of shot(s) do you feel brought the show to life most?

My screenplay was about sponge bob and gru. "Yes, but I also build a lot of cool things with my minions." sponge bob and gru haven't met in a long time and met recently. They were talking about how both of them are doing and whats going on in their lives. For my costume design, I created a man wearing all black and a scarf for gru. For sponge bob I created a man painted yellow and wearing brown shorts a blue shirt and a red tie. I designed it like that because I feel like everyone should be able to tell who the characters are. When we filmed the TV pilot show, it was different than what we usually film. We had to think about the different shots and angles we had to use. I feel like the reaction shots brought the show to life the most because it really stood out.

What are some of your biggest psychological barriers when it comes to making films? Share your ups and downs of film making on your blog, and how you plan to continue to grow in the second half of the class.

Some of my biggest psychological barriers when it comes to making films is thinking that it won't be as good as it is supposed to be. Also, when there is a lot of footage to get and then edit all of it. I plan on growing in the second half of my class by being more confident and not stressing as much

Describe your experience shooting this project in the film studio with the added lighting elements. How do you feel the studio time affected your final product quality? Additionally, how did you approach the montage portion of your film. Describe what you chose to cu together and what effect you hope for it to have on your audience.

Shooting this project was different because we had to use the lights to make the shot look the way we wanted. The studio time affected my final product quality by making it better because the lights made the hots look better. The montage portion of the film was ind of cool because we added the different clips that made the film look cool. The audience would really like the film with all of the edits.

Soon, you'll be pitching an idea for a feature film in this class. What genre do you think you'll focus your creativity on? Why are you drawn to this genre? What do you find most interesting about this genre? What would you hope others would get from your work if you were to create films in this genre?

I think the genre il focus on creativity will be suspense and horror because it will make the film interesting and fun to watch. I think it is interesting because suspense makes the audience want to watch more. Also, the music added in the background can make the film really cool and have a lot of suspense.

Describe your most recent shoot recording a music video. Which song did you choose and what type of concept or mixture of concepts did you capture. Describe what you the final product looks like and how you'd define it in regard to "documentary," "low concept," &/or "high concept." What are you most proud of with this project?

The most recent music video that I shot was good. It was fun to record something new and different. The song we chose was "Gucci Gang". We did a high concept with a symbolic sort of video. We were dancing in the video. The final product looks good for the first music video we filmed. The most that I am proud of with this project is that we were able to gather the clips and create a descent music video.
