My name is Reese and I'm a Freshman at River City. I want to go into the medical field so this class won't really help me in that way but i still think it'll be a cool thing to learn and do. I don't remember if I signed up for this class but I'm glad I got it because so far it has been fun and I'm looking forward to making more films.

When creating the one shot story we had to try to think of a story that you could understand even if there was only one shot. For the multi-shot story it was a little bit easier because we could show more details by being able to move the camera to get different shots. When making the film we took our one shot story and expanded it by adding more shots like close-ups to make it more ;like a professional film. It was kind of difficult at first to come up with a story that you could tell within only one shot. From these two films I've learned that there's a lot more work involved in creating a film than I thought.

My favorite shot that we've learned about probably has to be a high angle shot because I think they look cool and normally you wouldn't think to add a high angle shot but when you do it adds a little flare to it so its not just basic straight on shots the whole time. My least favorite is an oblique shot because I just don't like how it looks. Learning about all the different types of shots has allowed me to see how even the smallest details like the angle of the shot can add a whole new feel to the film.

I liked creating a TV show pilot because it was more fun than other stuff that we've done so far. It was kinda difficult though because we had to switch some characters around to match the people in my group and we had to come up with an ending to the episode since I didn't finish writing it. The show was about a high school friend group and then one friend goes missing and they have to figure out what happened to him. For the ad campaign I put red lettering on it so it was kinda like blood. I liked working with a script because it was easier than making it up as we go. I feel like the reaction shot, insert shot, and point of view shot were the best shots because it looked like a real TV show when we did those shots.

I'd say that my biggest barrier would have to be being in the films myself because I don't really like to be on camera so I usually film rather than do the acting. I really enjoy making films so far even though some parts are difficult like trying to remember all the different types of shots and also coming up with stories for our films is kinda hard to me. Other than that this class is really fun.

I think it would've been easier if we could've filmed some scenes in places other than the studio so that it could look more like where we were supposed to be in the story. However, for some scenes filming in the studio worked out really well. For the montage portion of the project I tried to find clips that had to do with time since we were flashing back to memories that the main character had. I did that to try to make it clear that they were flashbacks to make the story less confusing.

The genre I'm most drawn to is horror/thriller. I don't really know why but I really like scary movies. I feel like it would be hard to come up with a unique idea for a horror film though because there's so many scary movies so it's like every idea has been thought of and done before. So I'm not really sure what genre I'm going to do for when I have to pitch an idea to the class. If I were to create films in this genre I would hope that obviously people would get scared from my films, because that's the main purpose, and also they would enjoy the movies and be able to have a good time while watching them.

For the ratio rationale music video my group chose Just A Dream by Nelly as our song. To go with the song we produced a low concept video because we thought it would go best with the song/lyrics. I think it looks good as a low concept video but it would also be cool to see what it would look like as a high concept or mixture of concepts. For this project I'm most proud of the editing because I think it looks good the way I lined it up with the music so that when the singer says something, what's happening on screen goes with what he said.
