My name is Ulysses Drenik, and right now I'm currently a streamer, YouTuber with 500+ subs, and freelance graphic designer. In the future, I see myself either being a full time streamer on Twitch.tv or doing graphic design for companies, organizations, and other freelance jobs. As I am currently writing a script for my own short film, this class will help greatly in that process as I get further along the process and learn more about how to handle equipment and edit more professionally. Some of my favorite things at the moment are the hip-hop collective BROCKHAMPTON, League Of Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, and Rocket League.

Many directors use the Mise-en-scène to drop subtle hints to the story, or foreshadow events that will happen that you won't really notice until you watch the movie again. This gives the director a chance to really fill each shot with things that will make you want to watch more and more to find each hint or easter egg they may have hidden in shot. For example, in The Godfather trilogy, if there's an orange in the shot, odds are a character death is incoming. With an even more extensive taste of film, I must say I just get more and more interested every time i learn something new!

My favorite shot we did for the film even though it didn't make it in was the tilt shot, getting it just right and then capitalizing on the positioning and watching it back was extremely satisfying, considering how clean it looked once you played it back. Learning these shots will help me make my short film I'm currently working on more authentic and genuine, even though it's going to be shot by hand like a vlog.

Here is my original logline : Matthew and Joseph are two unlikely allies, met only through a call to see a teacher. Little do they know that soon they will rely on each other, as it appears everyone at their school has vanished but them.

When I was writing my TV Pilot, I imagined the world of the show being kind of gloomy, dim lights, color correction and all. So, when I designed the ads and my characters, I wanted the ads to reflect that, and the character designs to somewhat stand out against the tone of the environment, hence their bright clothing to contrast it from everything else.

Some of the biggest problems I face is a lack of motivation sometimes due to circumstances that are not in my control, such as shooting environment, budget, and time constraints. While these things cause problems in my shooting and movie making, I understand they are unable to change and the best I can do is work with what I have and make due. For the most part, this has brought me success, which I am very grateful for. As I enter the second half of this class, I hope to learn more techniques and history about film, as I can't really understand and exceed without knowing and understanding the history of the art I want to pursue so greatly.

Having access to advanced lighting and the studio setting improved the end result of our film in an extremely positive way! I'm happy to say that this opportunity had not only given me time to experiment with new filming techniques and mixing and matching my lighting habits. Tackling the montage parts of the project was somewhat difficult, but it opened my eyes to how crucial montages can be to begin with.

If I had to choose, I'd like most to focus on a story that is near real life, but far enough away to still be fictional. A found-footage movie, to be more specific. I've always been interested in found footage movie as opposed to other genres because of how easy they are to make, yet so impactful to the audience if done correctly. I want to make a found footage film unlike any other, by not going full supernatural but pertaining to more realistic and nonfictional horror.

I chose JELLO from Brockhampton. Not only are they my favorite musicians, but this song has the kind of upbeat and sly style that blends perfectly with the concept of our video. It doesn't take itself too seriously while still following a story, and I think that's something hard to master but when done correctly it can come out great. I'd definitely consider my video to be Low Concept, as there is a story behind every scene in it.
