I am a student who works very hard. I go to school I work right after school then get home late and still manage to keep up with my education. I am the first in the whole family to actually attend a high school, to even step on high school grounds. Me being in high school is very important for the family and I. In the future I see myself proud of myself and my accomplishments. I want to go to college and study criminal justice and become a nurse for labors as my mom was in Mexico. This class lets me put myself in other peoples shoes. I can understand others mindset which would help me a lot when I study criminal justice. I believe this class will help me a lot and to achieve my goals.

Now, head to you personal blog reflection page and respond to this week's question:After two+ weeks in Theatre 1, how do you feel you have changed? In relation to your interaction with others? In relation to your interaction with yourself (inner monologue)? In relation to school? What further changes are you hoping to see in yourself?

After two weeks of being in Theatre 1 I have changed because I used to be way more shy in every single one of my classes and thanks to this class it helped me very much in all my classes but mostly in choir where I am currently auditioning for a solo and that's something I don't think I've ever done. I mean I've done a couple of plays like in 3rd grade and I sang a solo but I haven't done a solo ever since. In relation to interacting with others im also not that shy anymore im able to speak and take the leader role. I also feel more free to speak, I am not scared anymore I don't get goose bumps, and my heart doesn't beat as fast. Further in time I hope to see myself loosing completely all the nerves I used to get for half my life. I also hope I can talk without forgetting my lines in front of the whole audience or start laughing :p

I'm glad you're finding this class is forcing you into some confidence. As you continue to grow you will hopefully find that confidence is much more accessible.

Now, head to your personal blog reflection page and reflect on your Group Mime Performance. Consider the rehearsal and performance process as well as being a part of the audience

Our group rehearsal went well we all worked together and added commentaries the only thing that was difficult was making a scene with spongebob, squidward, a ladybug, and two birds yet we managed to work together as a team and get things in. Our performance went well I mean we were a little nervous but we helped eachother through it.

Please consider your monologue... what are you doing to prepare yourself for the performance? How are you going to bring physicality to your character? Also, what specifically would you like feedback about for your performance?

To prepare myself for this performance I am talking to my cousin Cynthia because its based on her life and she's being open with me and giving me a lot of details of what she was thinking when she was going through it. To bring physicality to my character Im going to try really hard to cry as much as she did although I am pretty nervous but im doing this for her because se wanted me to help girls think twice before they act. I would like feed back on anything I need to improve please.

Yesterday when I preformed my script I was very very nervous. I kept on rereading my script over and over but right before he called my name I had a little panic attack. To control my emotion I took a deep breath and did what I had to do. During my performance I was nervous and I read my script pretty fast that's something I am going to work on as well and not getting as nervous and bringing more emotion to my performances.

Your nerves did so a bit through a tiny sway - that's your "tell" so notice and work on that. Your story had a nice growth of emotion and you matched that with your vocal pace and intonation which brought the emotions to life. Continue to focus on calming yourself, so you can slow down and enunciate the words a bit more so all can appreciate the words of the text.

Discuss at length the experience of performing your original monologue for the class.

My experience performing was actually not as scary as I imagined. At first I did get nervous but then I calmed down and got comfortable as just talked to my audience as friends I didn't see them as my audience I saw them as my friends and I think that really helped me. but other than that I think everything went smoothly except I forgot to show my floor plan but it was just the quotes. I really enjoyed this project (:

Describe your puppet character in looks, but also in personality. What physical things (fabrics, accessories, details) are you going to consider for your puppet creation that will help us to know and understand the character? How and why will these attributes have a deeper meaning for your character?

My character looks like a young girl around the age of 5 who is spoiled. I am considering to use a puffy dress for her and maybe a small Barbie crown to make her look like she's spoiled kind of like the show Toddlers Tiaras. The clothing and accessories am considering to use will hopefully help the audience see she is very young and spoiled. The whole puffy dress and the way she talks will also help the audience understand her personality.

Consider the work you put into creating your puppet. How did you go about it? What did you struggle with along the way and how did you problem solve those moments? What parts of your puppet really stand out to you as great? How did those parts come about?

My puppet was inspired by the tv show Ruggrats. I was kind of aiming for a 10 year old but the group I was in needed a young girl therefore I became the 5 year old Macy. I think the thing I still struggling to this day is the voice its really hard to have a little girl voice and to pronounce certain wording. I havnt solved it completely but im working on it. To me I really like my puppets costume it took a long time time make and design I pictured her like a girl from toddlers tiara but it was hard to make a tutu lol yet othyer than thazt I think everything is going good so far (:

BR12:
Reflect on your Puppet Play Performance (focus manipulation, voice, story, etc.) Also, describe your impressions of the puppet plays of other groups.

Our puppet play went very well. I believe it was very crowded when we were performing and it got everyone nervous and we paniced little but we did good i believe.

You have likely studied Shakespeare prior to this class, or at the least were introduced to him and his work this week. Reflect on why you believe one person's work could be so highly acclaimed and how you feel taking on one of his famous scenes for your next project.

I believe someones personal work can be highly claimed because of the impact it had on the persons who hear about it. i think i would like to use Shakespeare costumes he used i love the big ball dresses and hair and the way they talk.

Describe the two costumes you're designing for "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Which characters are you designing for and how are you making their clothing an extension of their character? Consider describing the line, shape, silhouette, color, fabric, and accessories that are making your design interesting and thoughtful.

I am designing costumes for "A Midsummer Night's Dream" for the characters Hippolyta and Thisbe. I am making their costumes very royal like and like a greece style but as well very modern. For example for Hippolyta is going to wear a greek style dress but its going to have like a mermaid bottom as they now use mostly for weddings. For thisbe on the other hand i decided to design it like a greek emporer. with the golden crown and the long gown as well as im planning on using the same colors for both of them. I will be using like a grape purple and a lavander purple. I chose these colors because to me they are very vibrante and very calm colors.

Reflect on your experience performing the scene from "A Midsummer Night's Dream". What was it like to memorize lines and staging? How did you feel your acting went - in voice and physicalization?

My experience performing the scene from "A Midsummer Night's Dream" was amazing. At first i was a little nervous because i would overthink my lines and forget my lines for a second but i think the staging went very well i didnt really have to move much. My voice i think i could have used a little accent to play it off. VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE (:

Submit a Creative Process Reflection for your Final Scene explaining what your performance piece is about, how you’re putting it together, and what some of your thoughts and influences are as you’re constructing the performance. What are you hoping the audience takes away from your performance? BE DETAILED AND THOROUGH WITH YOUR RESPONSE

My final is a parody. The parody is based on a very common Hispanic life situation. Elvin and I decided to do something bilingual. The parody starts off with a Mexican dad going on her daughters phone and answering a mans call at that point the dad asks who it is and the unknown caller tells him hes beckys' (the daughter) boyfriend. Then throughout the whole parody the dad is explaining to the daughter that she is to young to have a boyfriend, she doesnt know how to cook she only knows how to use the microwave, and that hes no good for her. Becky then is trying to convice her father that her boyfriend is a good man and that shes going to be with him. At the end when becky leaves the father gets a heart attack.
