After two+ weeks in Theatre 1, how do you feel you have changed? In relation to your interaction with others? In relation to your interaction with yourself (inner monologue)? In relation to school? What further changes are you hoping to see in yourself?
I feel I have changed by learning to work more as a team than by myself. I've never been scared to talk to people, but now I have even more courage to do so. I feel I have became a little bit stronger with my confidence. I feel that I am slowly changing into a star and the school is lucky enough to see that. I'm hoping that I will become a better actor.
Reflect on your Group Mime Performance. Consider the rehearsal and performance process as well as being a part of the audience.
My groups' mime performance was rehearsed not the best way. Each group members had good ideas and strategies. We could not fit it all into the performance so we had to cut it. All in all it was a great first performance for my group in my opinion. As being part of the audience, it was an amazing experience. I got to see my fellow peers step a little out of their normal zone. It was a great way to break off everyone's first performance.
My name is Julian M. I do not consider my last name relevant. I know that I should for identification, but I really don't like using it. My reality is to win multiple Grammy's and Oscar's. Most people think that I am crazy and that it is not possible, but I know that it is. I am here not to make everything about me, but to show everyone who I am and what I have to offer. There are a lot of people who make fun of me because of this, but I will not let that set me back from my reality.
Please consider your monologue... what are you doing to prepare yourself for the performance? How are you going to bring physicality to your character? Also, what specifically would you like feedback about for your performance?
I am practicing reading it in different ways and my posture. I am going to bring physicality to my character by bringing out the emotion. I would specifically like to know about my overall acting.
You had wonderful inflection in your voice as you connected emotionally to the honesty in your piece. Yet, the emotional seriousness you conveyed lacked true connection to the dynamic shifts in your story, the ups and downs, that could be brought to life through inflection and pacing shifts. Also, be sure you know who you're speaking to and where they are, so you can plant you feet rather then wander about. Move with intention just as you do in real life.
I enjoyed this project. This was something new and different that I have never done before. My favorite item was the gobo because the image burns through my mind. I wasn't all the way finished with my box, but I know what it was going to look like. I love my creativity and the feedback I got from my peers.
Describe your puppet character in looks, but also in personality. What physical things (fabrics, accessories, details) are you going to consider for your puppet creation that will help us to know and understand the character? How and why will these attributes have a deeper meaning for your character? My character is Maggie Simpson. She is a baby, so she can't talk. I'll try and find a small blue gown and a huge binkie.
Consider the work you put into creating your puppet. How did you go about it? What did you struggle with along the way and how did you problem solve those moments? What parts of your puppet really stand out to you as great? How did those parts come about?
I looked at paintings of Maggie and it inspired me. I also put a little of my own idea into it too. I struggled with the head part and i solved the problem by realizing that it didn't have to be perfect. The pacifier stands out to me as great. They came about with clay and paint.
Yes i liked your puppet and also youre an amazing singer
Reflect on your Puppet Play Performance (focus manipulation, voice, story, etc.) Also, describe your impressions of the puppet plays of other groups. I think that we had a lot of fun as a group. We really enjoyed the project being together bigger than groups.
You have likely studied Shakespeare prior to this class, or at the least were introduced to him and his work this week. Reflect on why you believe one person's work could be so highly acclaimed and how you feel taking on one of his famous scenes for your next project.
I think one person's work can be highly acclaimed if what they have is eye catching and enjoyable to almost every genre. I am happy to take on one of his famous scenes.
Submit a Creative Process Reflection for your Final Scene explaining what your performance piece is about, how you’re putting it together, and what some of your thoughts and influences are as you’re constructing the performance. What are you hoping the audience takes away from your performance? BE DETAILED AND THOROUGH WITH YOUR RESPONSE
My piece is about comedy and stereotypes in an African american home in the ghetto. I'm putting it together by writing the script and my group is helping by putting input. I'm influenced by the Christmas movie Almost Christmas and some of my thoughts are eager and excited to what I'll do with it. I'm hoping the audience loves the performance.
