I am new. New in life, new in this class, and new to the experiences that I am having everyday. In time I hope that these experiences will help me to become successful and cultured in all ventures of life, whether it be work or pleasure. I hope that this class will be another experience that will help me on my journey.

After my first two weeks in Theatre 1, I've definitely felt more familiarity between me and my peers. I no longer feel like I am being judged when I'm performing, its as if I am just hanging out and playing games with some friends. These weeks of performing have also helped with the stress of all my other classes. Having a first period to sort of goof around while learning after a long night of essay writing. In the future, I am hoping that this class will completely wipe out the nervousness that I feel before a performance, whether it be in or out of class.

Today was our first performance, and I couldn't be more proud of the way that my group performed. Everything from Charlie's resurrection to Ben's swaying was spot on, everyone in my group played their roles perfect;y. The feeling of walking out with my mask and seeing the audience smile still warms me as I'm writing this. The thought that I could invoke that type of emotion from anyone is an incredible feat in my opinion. This has furthered my love for performing and I can't wait to see what we do next in this class.

Please consider your monologue... what are you doing to prepare yourself for the performance? How are you going to bring physicality to your character? Also, what specifically would you like feedback about for your performance?

I have been practicing my lines at night to rehearse for my monologue, I'm going to walk throughout the Black Box to bring physicality to this character. I would like feedback on my delivery, did the lines seem natural?

I wasn't really blown away by my monologue. I felt it was a little shorter than I intended, but that was a consequence of not pausing long enough during certain lines. I felt my delivery was fairly precise, my monologue script may have needed another revising before I had performed however. All in all, a good experience but a sub par monologue.

So you seemed at ease and confident while performing and your voice was perfectly audible for the space. Yet I felt there was room to allow the inflection in your voice, and the actions of your body to take us back to the moments you were discussing. Be in your character's moment and state of mind and physicality.

My puppet is the essence of surf, he is and will forever be gnarly. He is the most laid back person you can imagine, loves everything that is righteous, and is rarely seen without his surfboard. I'm considering what material to use to symbolize bare skin, other than that a pair of swimming shorts shouldn't be that hard to pull off and I'm thinking about adding a surfboard. These will amplify the carefree nature of my character, ultimately capturing the personality that I am trying to portray.

My puppet was pretty straightforward. Its a normal human so the most important part of him was the head, which I sculpted and painted accordingly. I didn't have many troubles making the puppet but I did have troubles deciding what I wanted to make. Whether or not he was going to use a surfboard or whether he was going to wear shorts or a towel were some dilemmas that I ran into. I don't really think my puppet is great in general, I think the true power in this puppet will come from its performance rather than its physical appeal.

I believe my group performed quite well. Other than some delay in between lines I think it went swimmingly. My fixed point and voice was pretty good, I think I nailed the surfer vibe I was going for but I could've moved my arms a bit more.My breath was alright I thought, but I could definitely do some better work.

I believe Shakespeare's work is so highly acclaimed because of his ability to appeal to the emotion of the audience. His plays invoked all of the thrill that an audience member could hope for, from love to violence to comedy to tragedy, and the fact that he used formats such as iambic pentameter to perform such tasks makes it even more remarkable. I have performed Shakespeare in other classes so I'm not too scared, but the language is quite hard to grasp. With practice, however, I feel I can put on a decent performance.

Describe the two costumes you're designing for "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Which characters are you designing for and how are you making their clothing an extension of their character? Consider describing the line, shape, silhouette, color, fabric, and accessories that are making your design interesting and thoughtful.

I designed the Athenians wardrobe in a modern day setting and the play costumes were designed in a roman theme. I am using clothing to represent class and superiority, and in the play the classic toga gives a hint towards the time period. The fabric for my roman clothes are white bed sheets and the cloth for my Athenian wardrobe is the finest Versace suits.

I wish you good luck on your performance even though I know you don't need it. You are always participating and trying out new things. You are going to play a great Pyramus.

The performance was flawed to say the least. Lets just say that I didn't have all of my lines memorized and the audience had the task of feeding me a every line that I didn't know. I think it went by alright, everyone had a good laugh and we died with some honor. 5/7 would perform again.

Submit a Creative Process Reflection for your Final Scene explaining what your performance piece is about, how you’re putting it together, and what some of your thoughts and influences are as you’re constructing the performance. What are you hoping the audience takes away from your performance? BE DETAILED AND THOROUGH WITH YOUR RESPONSE

Our performance is going to be a dramatic rendition of the classic television show, "Power Rangers". Me, Charlie, and Melina already have Power Ranger onesies so the costumes won't be a problem. Charles Wall is our creative director in this process, he provides the much needed inspiration that has built our idea. Im hoping the audience has a good laugh at our performance and gets a single monochrome of enjoyment out of it.
