I am Sarah. In the beginning of this class I was a bit shy, but now seeing other people get out of their comfort zone I can see i am going to have a fun time. When I first saw that I had theater I wasn't that excited because I don't do acting and stuff, but I am getting the hang of this class. I feel that taking this class will help me become more social and more outgoing than I normally am. I am very excited to see where this class takes me in the future.

After 2 weeks of being in theater class I have learned that not everyone is shy to do thing in front of others. I have made a couple new friends during these 2 weeks and hope to soon be friends with everyone in this class. Everyone seems like nice and chill people to be around. I feel I have opened up more and isn't as shy to talk to strangers. After class ends I am not shy or scared to meet or talk to strangers and I feel that is because of seeing people in Drama open up and get out of there comfort zones and I feel I have to do the same. I still wish that in the future I have a lot more friends in this class and I hope I don't go back to being shy like I once was.

When my group first started to rehearse the boys kinda went off by themselves and were acting like they didn't wanna do the play. So after a day we started coming up with ideas. We came up with one and that is what we used. It was hard at first to coordinate the different parts into one play, but eventually we got it and we practiced. Each time we would practice someone would laugh or forget what we were supposed to do. So we had to redo the scene many time and we still never got it right or in the time limit. Then the day we did the scene in front of people on of the people in are group was gone, but we made up a new scene and practiced it for the limited amount of time we had. After the teacher made us sit back down the person that was gone in the beginning of class came back so we decided to do the original scene. I don't think we did the scene in the time limit, but we did what we practiced and it turned out alright.

You did an amazing job with being a tree. I loved the way that you worked with what you had. You did a great job

The monologue I made is about a softball tournament. When I am telling the story the character is supposed to be giving a speech about how good the team did and encouraging to do better. So the character would be standing and pretending to give a speech. Feedback I would like is if I was shy giving the speech.

Writing my monologue was very difficult for me. I had no ideas coming up in my mind. Then I started thinking about what I loved in life and one of them was softball. So I though how can I turn the word softball into a monologue. Well my softball team recently went to LA for a tournament so I wrote about that. I wrote about the car ride there, the games, and the players. After I was done writing I read the monologue over and over and I could tell something needed to be changed so I made the story into a speech given to the team at a end of the year party and that made the story really good. The performance was nerve racking though. I felt like I couldn't breath when I was up there. Then before I knew it, it was all over and I went back and sat down. I think I did a fairly good job of the monologue.

I appreciated that you were able to decide on a story to tell. Writing from your own experience is a great way to go. Yet, I felt there was a disconnect between your text and the emotions you conveyed. Emotionally, it came across flat, whereas your script was very exciting and dynamic. How can you bring the powerful emotions you felt at the championships back to life through your acting?

It all started with the picture collage. I tried to make a story out of the collage and it turned out to be this wack guy that was 70s themed and he is a serial killer. The scene I did was in New York at the guys apartment. In front of the apartment there was a bench. That bench is where the guy found his victims. I thought my model would have many buildings but the box I did it in was to small so I only had one building. The thing I was most proud of was the bench. I also thought I did good at the presentation because I was shy or scared to do it this time.

For my puppet I am making a dragon. I decided to do a dragon because we are learning about Asian theater and I always see dragons related to China. I am going to make a crown of horns on the dragons head and a pointed nose. For the body, I am going to make that out of clay. Also I will be making a scaly pattern on the face and the body. Finally, I am going to make wings and attach rods to each of them so I can make it fly. Hopefully it will turned out as planned.

Based on your drawings it's very ambitious. I'm excited to see the end result because you have great attention to detail.

The puppet I had in mind was a colorful dragon with large wings and horns on its head. The only hard part was finding the right material for the wings. I eventually found the right material and it turned out exactly how I wanted it to. The puppet stands tall looking at it from the front and when you turn it, it has big wings connected to 2 arm rods. I really like the neck and belly part because it is green and it stands out, but I also like the wings. Most of all I love all the bright colors I put in the puppet.

Shakespeare's plays are amazing to me. The play romeo and Juliet showed me how in love you can be with someone and is willing to do anything for them. I am very excited to do a scene from one of his many plays, even though I get scared when I perform.

I am making a suit that is orange and yellow for the man part. This will represent the lion. The shoes are just a orangish color. I also will add a gold watch to go with the scene. The play within a play will be fairy tail. For the female model I made Hippoltya into a 1970's girl with high rise bell bottom jeans and a flared tucked in shirt. For this costume I added a big jeweled necklace and wedge shoes. Her outfit is going to be very colorful with a lot of purple for the main color.

The performance when really good except my group skipped over one of my lines because they forgot theirs. I also got extra credit because I went up for another group.

For my final I am doing a hair and makeup design. I choose to do this because making the makeup design for moonshine in class really inspired me to put that makeup on a real person. I really love doing makeup and if I was to do a career related to theater I would do something on the lines of makeup and hair. I really hope the audience can see the connection between my rough drafts and the final design.
