My name is Karla and right now I am working to be an early grad in high school. Something that I am seeking for in this class is to learn how to speak in front of an audience and get out of my comfort zone. When i'm done with this class, I feel like I would be more confident with my self.

The playwright is more important than the actors them selves because because with out a script the play that the actors will be performing would not be as good. Actors can do improv, but there really wont be a climax or a whole plot that goes on in a certain way or structure. A playwright can definitely think about the story as a whole and now how to make it a good play. The playwright has a huge responsibility because its literally all on them on how good or bad the play would be. The actors acting can also make an effect on how good the play is, but its mostly on the playwright. A playwright can also just wright a play and somebody can just read it without it being performed and it can still be a very good performance.

My performance was okay. I was kind of nervous because I didn't really know what to do as a flamingo. Over all it was fun and one of the things that I have to work on is staying in character and not laughing. It would have made a difference if we added more story to our non verbal act.

This week I began with my monologue by choosing my self as a character, I thought about the setting and what my climax was going to be. I started off by picking three places my story could be at and thought about the different ways my story would go based on the setting. Thinking about my spine has definitely helped my story. By keeping my character with a positive mind and positive character it will help my ending and will show that things happen in a blink of an eye. The theatrical gene that I would put in my monologue at this point would be to show everything going great.

My friend Kameron told me all about the play "As You Like It" , it sounded like a very fun play to attend and the story was good, but a little confusing. I heard that the theater was very small, but that was a good thing because you were able to see all the play and all little details. Kameron told me that the costumes were good, it went from old fashion to modern clothing. I heard that the acting was very good

Some of the things that i'm doing to prepare my self for the performance is practicing reading my script in a sad way.

My performance didn't go so well. I forgot to introduce myself and started right away. My story was supposed to be sad and I feel like I was smiling the whole time. I could have used more expression and at least walked around instead of just standing there. The only positive part of my performance was that I didn't have to use my script and I was looking at the audience.

My set design is pretty simple. I'm doing like a street party in Manhattan with buildings all in the side then the party in the middle of the streets. I was inspired by a movie called Girls Trip. My collage has lots of words in it that have building look alike shapes so i wanted to do something in streets.Drawing out my set design was kind of difficult because its buildings on the side but when I start building its going to all make sense. I want to also have like dark colors every where because its going to be night.

These three weeks in Drama have been fun. All the way from the collage to making the actual design. Making my collage was fun. It was my first time making one too,so it was exciting. I think the most difficult part of every thing was just figuring out what I was going to create from my collage because everything on there was basically just words. When I finally decided to make a street party, everything just became easier. I built it and I really like what my outcome came out to be.

I had a hard time deciding what I was going to create with my puppet so i decided to make the chicken from Moana named HeiHei. Making my puppet was very fun. At first I messed up very much, so I had to start all over again. I started again and made improvement. It looks way better and I think it turned out very well. The thing im most proud of are the colors and how they all came along together. His personality is very funny and cute. I'm still working on his voice and I think that's going to be the most challenging part.

Our play went very well. At first we all thought ours was too corny because everyone else was really funny, but when we did the play it turned out very good. I was kinda scared on what voice I was going to do for my chicken, but then i figured out that I wanted to do a stutter. Our play was very cute and Mr. Hanks asked us to perform again so that made us feel good about it.

Working with a Shakespearean script was a challenge for me because of the such confusing language but I actually learned my lines very well. I didn't get to perform that day though because I got really sick the day before, but I did get to say my lines to Mr.Hanks and did a decent job. My costume and Makeup designs were both very simple,I mixed kinda old fashion with modern fashion and it came out looking pretty good. I think Shakespeare is still relevant today because people love the scripts and the plot twist to his plays. He was also very famous back then for the scrips. People today still do research about him because of his big brain.

The process of the final scene went really well. At first we were going to do Jerry Springier but then changed it to The Mourey show. I think our story was really funny and well organized.

Our final scene went really good. Even thought some parts didn't go as planned it wasn't noticeable at all. I'm really going to miss my friends from this class. Our extras that helped out did very good. It was definitely funny and that's what we were trying to do.
