So my name is Ojas AKA Jerry ! I am a junior at river city and I aspire to be an actor or stand up comic but as creative fields are not always the most well paying jobs , hence i want to have a backup - that is why I want to do something in the tech industry. I HAVE BEEN IN SUCH CLASSES BEFORE AND I KNOW THAT THEY NOT ONLY HELP YOU TO BE A GOOD ACTOR OR PERFORMER BUT YOU ALSO LEARN A WHOLE BUNCH OTHER SKILLS WHICH WE NEED IN LIFE .

1. Who is more important... the playwright or the cast and crew? Defend your assertion with your logic and some examples. 2. Also, how did your first performance in class go? What did it feel like before, during, and after?
I personally think it is an collective effort but if I had to choose one I will choose the playwright because if he had not written the play in the first place there would be no play .A Good story is a backbone of any performance even the people argue that actors add life to the script and a good actor can pull out the worst written piece as one of the best , but i feel like a good script eases an actors job no matter how good the actor is he cant fix a poor script . i will rather watch a movie with a good story and average actors than a poorly written one with legendary actors.
i think my first performance was decent at first i was a lil nervous but i think it went nice the start was good , the mid was slow but the end was excellent.

You seriously rocked this assignment. You're spirit animal monkey held your entire group's performance together. You allowed each of the other characters to come in and shine, still you maintained focus and great physicality. I'd like you to continue to approach each performance with the same energy, even where they're 'regular' people. Excellent job.

Reflect on the process of writing your monologue this week:
1) How did you begin? Did you brainstorm, get struck by a spark of imagination, or begin with by recounting a personal story, etc?
2) Has thinking about spine, objective, and tactics aided in your writing of an interesting story? Give an example of a tactic your character is using...
3) What theatrical genre would you apply to your monologue at this point and why?
In the beginning , I was brainstormed with a couple of ideas but later i stick with one and i did added some personal details . yes its actually helped me a lot .One of the tactic my character uses is using wit and gain sympathy .I'm not sure whats the genre is exactly but it could be considered Tragicomedy.

Share out about your experience this week attending "As You Like It" at Sacramento Theatre Company. Indicate evidence that supports your opinion.
Additionally, consider your monologue... what are you doing to prepare yourself for the performance? How are you going to bring physicality to your character? How might you apply what you saw in live theatre this week to inspire your monologue performance?
It was a really fun experience and really educational because it was the first time I was watching professional theatre , and I learned quite a few things like I to talk straight to your audience and cover up your stage space .

So the monologue I originally wrote was way different then the one I performed but the thing was even though it was really well written and i knew it would come out immensely fantastic , i could not find an ending for it so I went for the one i performed . Honestly , I did not like my performance at all i feel like i have the potential to perform and write way better than this , i wanted to perform the best in the class but then i didn't rehearse much and it was pretty spontaneous on my part and I may have underestimated a lot of my peers who were just amazing , the legit killed it so that inspired me a lot to work hard in the future. I would love your feedback on the performance .

Describe the beginning concept for your set design. What elements of your inspiration collage did you draw upon? What is the basic stage scene you're setting in your design? Is there a strong design concept yet it regard to style, form, texture, color, etc.?
I thought about making it look like nature .I used a lot of different shapes and a lot of varied images that inspired me and let the creativity flow. I'm still not sure on that part as there are a couple different directions my draft can go. I feel like I will use cool colors and smooth texture and I want to make a unique style so I am going to take inspiration from professionals and then add my perspective to it .

Consider the work you put into creating your puppet. How did you go about it? What did you struggle with along the way and how did you problem solve those moments? What parts of your puppet really stand out to you as great? How did those parts come about? What about your puppet's personality are you hoping to bring about through your voice?
i had a lot of fun doing this , it actually turned out to be way better than i thought it to be , I actually put a lot of effort in it . the painting and making a dress was the hardest .I really like my characters hat and facial expressions , which were inspired by a real person. the character is actually a lonely but really adamant , sarcastic and witty. so his voice is going to be loud and bold but with a sarcastic tone .

This was one crazy experience , from building the puppets to actually performing ,I had a lot of fun doing this. Even though It was really scary because when you perform you cant really tell how you are doing and what the audiences feel about it . But I guess we just did fine.the other performances were really good.

I had a lot of fun doing the midnight summer dream . It was fairly new to me , as I have never really performed something like that before but at the same time I felt like i know what is going on.It is amazing that a play written this long ago is still so relate able and effective even today.Shakespeare wrote about common problems and life in a simple but beautiful way and that is the reason it is relevant to audiences to this day.

This reflection should explain what your Final Scene performance piece is about, how you’re putting it together, and what some of your thoughts and influences are as you’re constructing the performance

My final performance is kind of a poetic monologue. the poetry is spill poetry and it is from one of my real life experience . It is going to be emotional , lots of emotion ! And it is going to be funny too, I have been working on it for a while and just hoping for the best .

Look back on your final performance for the class and reflect on your work. How do you feel it went? What was great, and what would you do differently the next time? What are some of your take-aways from the whole term?
I think it went alright , I enjoyed it a lot . working on it was my favorite part , going through all those memories and the writing aspect of it was just awesome. the audience was engaged too , they were with me in it . I was really lost in the emotional value if it and while performing i was putting my 100 percent. Everything was great about it . this was something I haven't done before and really pushed myself to do it because i do not right a lot and its not that i don't like it but its the amount of time you have to put in it and it was poetry kind of out of my comfort zone but the way it turned out ... I'm really glad that I did it . This class definitely educated a lot more about theater and dramatics as a art form . learnt whole bunch of other things that how it wasn't just the performance but there were other things in the background which made the show really great . Next time? one never knows , break dancing? a skit? stand up comedy ? idk honestly.
