My name is Jenny and I am currently in this class mostly because I want to get involved into film or any type of theatre course and not because I want to become an actor but because I seeking to, hopefully, become a screenwriter or a director, which has been something I have wanted to pursue on for the longest time. I do know that this class focuses on the different types of elements in theatre, even directing or scriptwrting, so I joined this course and I hope to gain greater insight of the life of theatre later in the future and towards my goals.

In this class, it has been interesting to see and learn new things by playing different games. This week i have enjoyed the new games we have played in the black box. I found challenging that sometimes I had to speak up, but in the end, I started to enjoy the different activities we have done.

Today for my performance, I felt nervous at first, but when I saw the other performances, I started to relax a bit. My favorite part was getting to see the other performances because I believe they were really funny and entertaining. I think we probably did good because of the practice and effort put in our performance.

You appeared reserved? What could have helped you to feel more confident? Playing a person rather than a bird? You next step is to commit to your character's motivation and your own fears will more easily slip away.

I'm still debating on what my monologue should be because I find it difficult to come up with something. However, I believe my character would be someone who is talking to a friend about their experiences. I would physicalize this character by showing my emotions that contribute to what I am saying. I will prepare by trying to improve my monologue and make it interesting. I want to know how I did on my monologue when I spoke up and how I can try to improve.

In regard to your Monologue Performance: Your nerves showed through the rushed speech. Slow down and be "in the moment" think about and listen to your words so you can match them with facial expressions.

The monologue was okay for me because I was really nervous when I had to present, but I went anyways. I tried my best in my writing to make the story really interesting and hopefully grab the audience's attention. It was tiring and it was not something I enjoyed as much, but I really did like hearing the other stories.

I thought your monologue was very interesting and had a lot of passion in it. I liked the fact that you kept in character the whole time which made feel like this was an actual event in our history.

The thing that inspired my scenery is literature and there is this dark and mysterious story that gave me the inspiration for my collage. Its coming to life by adding many props and details.I will capture the mood by showing small details and color. My collage has many realistic things and has different shapes. This will be reflected by the visuals.

After hearing the representative from the Academy of Art University, it made me realize I might have some interest in the arts, but I might not be so fixated on the idea of having a career involving just the arts. I do have college goals, however, I do not believe it will be anything associated with the arts. I am taking many steps towards my goals, such as getting involved with many organizations that are correlated with my interests.

The performing arts are rooted to the culture of today based on the different aspects of the theatre while they perform. The comedy and tragic masks are seen today because they have become the symbol of theatre. Those masks show the different expressions the actors can make.

For my puppet presentation, I thought it went pretty well. I forgot to change my voice at the beginning, but then I attempted to make my voice lower because of my character. I liked the other performances as well. My group tried really hard to make the script interesting for the audience, but it was a bit difficult to make it a bit comedic, however, in the end, we improvised and tried our best.

Regarding your puppet play performance: Your speaking voice was hampered because of the puppet performance set-up. Though that's not much different from being in a larger room presenting/performing. Your next steps are to work on the confidence that will aid in you feeling comfortable in your projection.

I believe someone's work can be so highly acclaimed because their work can be so different than the common writers. I feel okay taking a scene from Shakespeare, but I only hope to do it right. It will be hard to portray such recognizable and famous scenes but I will do my best to do so.

I remember seeing a costume in a play that I saw with a class. The person was dressed in a lion costume and the costume was detailed with realistic looking fur and it was interesting to see it. The costume was interesting but the acting was what made it stand out the most

For the performance, I believe i did memorizing my lines well enough. I was a bit nervous, so i thought i would forget them, but in the end, i remembered it once again. I really like the performances because for some people it seemed as if they actually tried to make their performances perfect and some actually achieved it because it was well done.

Our Final performance will be about a thriller and dramatic play. We are all collaborating together to put our scenes together in order to combine all our ideas together. We got mostly influenced by horror movies and we worked really hard to make a good story line. I am hoping the audience will enjoy the plot and find it different among the other performances.

Regarding your final scene 'The Wooden Door": Your team's so did stand out from teh rest. Stage combat! What an effort to take on. You really had a lot to consider, which may have held back some of your focus on your speaking and lines. When sword fighting many of your lines were "thrown away" rather than matching the intensity of the battle. You used the stage space very well through the scene, with all that moving about you probably needed to pump up the volume on your voice to be heard over all the action. Overall, your performance was enjoyable and distinct. Congratulations.
