I am Olivia and I am a blank canvas.

An empty shell that is yearning to be filled with an abundance of knowledge about theatre.

The legitimate stage.

I like the fact that acting challenges my realistic way of thinking and forces me to think outside of my metaphorical box.

My mind races.

The synapses in my brain snap and move in rapid succession, trying to figure out my next action. I enjoy the endless creativity I can have in the fine arts.

I enjoyed learning about the process of creating playwrights and dialogues. For example, creating dramatic text and purpose is important in developing playwrights. Also, when writing dialogues, using protagonists and antagonists are helpful to incorporate into the script to add conflict and, in turn, better emotion.

I believe my performance was satisfactory in terms of embodying my character of the grim reaper. I felt as though I committed to the scene and followed through regardless of my nervousness. However, I could have improved my performance by being more dramatic with facial expressions and body movements.

Regarding your Group Mimed Performance: You had some great moments of action & plot points. The next step would be to connect those moments through your characters inner thoughts.

I am going to practice my memorization in order to prepare for me performance. I will express the anguish and joy I feel as I recite my monologue. As far as feedback, I would like some commentary on my confidence on stage. Did my actions and facial expressions reflect my words?

Regarding you Monologue Performance: Your actions and facial expressions matched the text, though your next step is to consider more exaggeration for the stage. You had great modulation in tone and pace which allowed the speech to come across very natural.

I think my performance was satisfactory in terms of movement and expression. I could have done better in showing more facial movement, but I believe my voice projection was precise. Loud enough for the audience to hear me, but quiet enough to convey a thoughtful tone. My words were meaningful, not filler and I achieved my goal of memorization and self-confidence.

Olivia, I was not expecting that from your monologue. It was actually really powerful and I liked the message you showed. You did great.

I wanted to create a comedic tale located in an exotic setting. My set design is starting to look like an island with a volcano and flowers. There is a mystic and magical aura to my set with an amazed feeling to the viewer. The volcano is in the center of the set to invoke a sense of wonderment by the huge size of it and the yin and yang moon is very magical in terms of the philosophy behind it. There are many different colors from scarlet red to yellow to deep purples to show variety and excitement. My set designs will include many bright and peaceful colors in order to set a festive and enchanting mood.

I was definitely intrigued by the speaker and I listened to everything said. I want to go to a four-year college and receive a degree in government and law. In order to do so, I have to focus on earning high grades and greater academic achievements so I can qualify for high ranking schools.

I would describe today's performances as slightly influenced by their predecessors. There will always be small nuances within modern day theatre. Plautus, for example. He used dramatic romance, which relates to TV sit-coms of today. In regards to theatre using large, extravagant masks and melodramatic behavior is seen.

I think I could have done better with my performance, but my nerves inhibited me from doing so. I think the script and the costumes were parallel to each other, but there was no connection between my voice and my words.

In regard to your puppet play performance: Your puppet's actions were in line with the script, however the story and performance took a turn as it went into improv at the end. In terms of style of performance, both physically and verbally, it seemed like two different plays. I wonder which portion you preferred? How could rehearsals have provided the opportunity to find the style that fit best and then develop a consistent performance from there?

I think that Shakespeare had original ideas that would change how plays were written and people were so moved by them that he became a playwright unlike any of his peers. I personally don't enjoy Shakespeare's plays, but I do respect him as creative person and acknowledge him as a pillar in theatre as a whole.

I remember the Captain America costume from the Marvel movies and comics. For instance, his suit in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The suit known as "The S.H.I.E.L.D. Strike Stealth suit" is a new ‘stealth’ suit — a navy blue, utilitarian-looking suit that moves fluidly. It allows his shield to be attached to the back with a small magnetic alloy. It really conveys the strength and power that is to be expected from Captain America.

I believe I could have used facial expressions and more gestures to emboby my character more fluidly.

My group's play is about two young women named Amber and Julia who attend couple's therapy after finding out that Julia's pregnant. During the session, they expose some suppressed feelings and ugly truths. I want to make the dialogue very natural and fluid. The purpose of this play is to show a comedic side to relationship issues, but address an emotional aspect to them as well.

Regarding you final scene "Let's Be Honest": If I'm honest, this was your best work on stage this year. Your character was believable, had an arch of growth, and you were fully committed to seeing her through. I feel it can sometimes be easier to just go for arguing, but in this case you and your team made sure there was still forward movement in the story, and matched the abrasiveness of the banter with slapstick comedy. Overall this was a great effort and a really successful performance. Congratulations!
