"I am no one...(Rey, Star Wars: The Force Awakens)" JUST KIDDING! I'm Sam Backus. Disney, Star Wars, Chicago Bears, family, exercising, film, hilarity, and that's just the beginning of who I am. Honestly, I may seem like I have a tough outer shell, but I have a warm, lovey dovey core...even though I'll deny it...

I'm here in this class because someday, I wish to be a character actress at Disneyland, my favorite place in the world. Also, I am going to try to be in Star Wars 9, however small my part may be...

Come and get to know me if you want, I'm pretty cool.

I had an awesome group for my performance, everybody deserved the applause. We all worked together as a team to produce a really interesting scene. The emotion was great and all of us got the cues for the final scene and I was super psyched that is turned out. The whole thing went off without a hitch after a lot of practice and perseverance.

Regarding your Group Mimed Performance: You did a great job of taking on many animistic movements and engaged your face a lot. How can you use that focus and intensity in more subtle scenes?

My character will probably be Batgirl debating whether or not to actually join Batman and Robin. I will physicalize my character by learning how she moves from the cartoon and copying the movements. I am preparing by reading my lines aloud and rehearsing in front of my family. I want feedback on how I can physicalize as a person rather than an animal and how I can act in more subtle roles.

Regarding your monologue performance: Your physical tableaus of the characters you were thinking to write about and perform was great. Those details allowed your character to be bold while being real. You maintain this element of moving through space when you'd sit in the various classes. Great volume and movement. Next step would be to build the scene in an emotional arch that is even more dynamic.

My monologue went well. I improvised the whole thing exactly how i thought of it earlier that day. I was so busy with AP Language and AP Statistics that I didn't have enough time to actually come up with something beforehand, but I think it went off without a hitch...or too many hitches.

Your monologue went really well and it was very dynamic, especially considering you improvised it earlier that day. It was unique and original and I loved it a lot. You were really natural and made the monologue fun and playful.

I really enjoyed your monologue. Although it was improvised, your tone made it feel as if you put lots of thought into it. it came out pretty darn well, and to that i'll say, Good job!

I found a story of a nerdy girl's way to freedom in my collage. In my set design, I put in a natural setting, because the girl will find her happy place in the natural world. My mood is fanciful and naturalistic. I have both round and linear shapes. These will be reflected in my designs by becoming real to life yet keeping its wonderful type feeling.

I like the theme and I think that it will turn out will in your set design. while reading through your blog I realized that I like it how you are not generic, that you switch up themes and stories. It makes it more interesting and reflects on you in a positive way. I cant wait until you [present your set and the process leading up to it.

My goal for college is to go to UCLA, I will go there for 4 years and play water polo on their club team. I will also do the Disney College Program. The rest is yet to come, and I have no idea what I'm gonna do yet.

I am approaching my goal by taking the PSAT, the SAT, ant the ACT. Also I am looking into the Disney College Program's application and training to be on their water polo team.

The performing arts of today have definitely grown out of the Greek and Roman roots. Many features of theatre have grown into the stories and traditions that we have today.

The "Comedy and Tragedy" masks honestly scared me for so many years because they just looked so scary *laughs nervously*. But they are such a popular symbol because it represents the two diverging ideas of theatre which are most commonly represented. Either it will make you laugh or it will make you cry.

I believe a person can be so highly acclaimed because he appealed to the common people, not just the elite. This led him to become popular and famous for years to come.

I am excited about taking on this next performance. It'll be a challenge, but I'm ready to face it head on!

I like how you do different names in your blogs, it makes it more interesting and I think you will do good in your performance, even though you have AP testing and wont have much time for studying your lines.

I remember Rey's costume in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, worn by Daisy Ridley. Rey is a scavenger that lives on a desert planet, when suddenly she is swept up into the chaos of a war between good and evil. The outfit consists of tan robes that for to her knees and her arms were bare. She had dust all over her to add effect as well. I believe that her costume was so different, so it stayed in my mind.

One method of staging was the mansion stage which was a large set up in town square, with individual scenic units in place with no movement, contrary to the wagon stages that moved town to town. The two were the same in that they were both large and set up in the town square. Medieval theatre is still alive today in that productions still move from town to town, and some have individual scenic units in place.

I am doing a shortened production of the movie "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," and I used many elements from the original movie to piece together this script. My major influence is of course the original movie itself, but also its director, J.J. Abrams. I watched his behind the scenes footage and saw his vision for the movie and tried to capture some of the magic that he created. It's still a work in progress, but we are approaching a level of compete awesomeness with this production. Also, I play the character Rey, originally played by Daisy Ridley, and I watched the movie repeatedly to truly understand this character: where she came from, how she feels, and what she is so desperate to know. I am hoping the audience takes away the general story of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and knows the story of a girl a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

My performance was based on Star Wars:The Force Awakens. I played the character Rey. I think our performance went well despite the mishaps. I think everyone was simply amazing and I have made some awesome lifelong friends. I don't think I'll ever forget my time in drama class.

Now I gotta get real sappy and do a little bit about my cast:

Addison: You're one of the most persistent dudes out there, and you never let up in effort until the job is done. Your editing help was much obliged.

Haley: You're such a trooper dude. Working through all the stuff you did was just awesome, and I'm impressed by your skills.

Lauren: You were a performer and you are so funny and awesome to work with. I couldn't have chosen a better leading lady.

Ramiro: You are honestly such an amazing tech guy and one of the funniest dudes I've met. You're great to work with, keep up the good stuff.

Sam: You're so shy and awesome.bro. Keep up public speaking and performing. You're an amazing dude.

Shannon: You're such a special snowflake and an awesome dancer too. It was awesome meeting and working with you.

Rest in spaghetti.
Never forgetti.
