My views have not changed much. I've always loved to research how movies were made. I have always looked at films as art. Now that I know how to edit, I can understand more. Being involved in pre-production is fun I just wish we had more time, I guess everybody feels that way.
My favorite shot is the handheld shot because you have more control over whats in frame. My least favorite shot in the commercial is the pan. It's just boring. Iv'e learned that cinematography is a lot harder than i thought it was.
The first videos we filmed were just to get the required shots and not really thinking about how they went together. Now with the melodrama, I really had to think about how the shots would go together in the editing process.
In the beginning of this class I had no clue how to use After Effects but I always wanted to learn. I've had fun in this class editing and filming, it feels good. When I first started I knew nothing basically. No shots or camera angles or any editing skills. This class has taught me to be creative in all of my work, no matter how long it has to be. I'll admit that when I first heard that our creative journals had to be 3 pages I got butt-hurt, but as I started writing I really had a good time. Creating new worlds in my mind and then putting them to paper. The Creative Journals that came after that I really spent time on, trying to create memey worlds that only I understood. I like writing creative journals because I really get to just let go and write about whatever the hell I want and I think that that is great.
Consider your favorite films... they more than likely are full creations of worlds of someone's imagination. I thrilled that your learning how to let yourself go into that realm and consider the work that filmmakers do! Your effort on all the work that you;re doing in this class is admirable, but hopefully moreover, something that will really propel you to keep creativity in your life!
Filming in the studio with sound equipment made us feel formal. It was a new experience because we've never filmed like this together. The sound quality was noticeably improved over all of our previous videos. It felt like we were on a professional film set. The overall quality of our Flash Dance video was improved too. I just wish we had more time.
My movie will be a drama/crime/action film. I lean more towards drama because I want storytelling to be a large focus of the film. What I find most interesting about drama is its ability to take the audience on an emotional roller coaster. Emotion plays a huge role in drama films and I plan to utilize it. I just want to create a piece of art that people can watch and enjoy themselves, a film that they didn't regret watching. I want it ti be something I enjoy making and the audience enjoys watching.
Your a good actor and a good and recording and editing films. I love your videos with the green screen and hope you can make something with that. Hope you get a good career and pursue your dream.
You by far deserve to be awarded for "Best Film" for "Gotta go fast". It made me laugh so much and was just perfect how the guy in glasses was like 'just stop!'. Keep up the great work
