Lenaea Festival 2020

2/14/2020

Lenaea is by far one of the best things about being in theatre, and this year was no different. Not only was I a character in our one act Juliet's Ghost, but I also won gold for my Much Ado About Nothing Duo Scene with Delayna.

This was my biggest role in theater and it meant a lot to me. I was given my role two weeks before the competition. It was very hard work to learn my lines and placements. I messed up lines constantly but I feel very confident in my performance. I love how everything was staged. I loved the costumes and everyone involved!

This year was my last lenaea ever and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Its always one of the highlights of my year. This time I did a design entry for the first time, which was a great experience. I'm going to miss going when I graduate.

As of this year this will be my third Lenaea Theatre festival that I have attended. And each year I tend to learn something new from thye critiques and lessons that others and I were given. It's also very fun to wonder around the campus and begin a cult of freshmen and sophomores.

Lenaea was a lot of fun! Watching performances and getting to do workshops were cool, and getting to perform a monologue and duo scene to get tips really helped!

Lenaea was a big experience and a huge process for me. Considering I threw myself into a completely new position and was working mostly blind for the whole thing. Despite having absolutely no idea what I was doing everyone was great to work with and did an amazing job.The actual festival was also amazing and I got to bond with a lot of everyone and I feel like I really made myself a part of the group.

The Lenaea Festival is typically one of the best experiences of being in theatre. There's food trucks, great singers from throughout the country, memes, and general theatrical chaos. The people there actually GET your humor.
Even though I didn't do much other than playing a role in Juliet's Ghost, it was really fun hearing people act, sing, and laugh.

This was my first go at Lenaea and it was an enjoyable experience. I'll admit going first was quite nerve wracking but after the performance it was smooth sailing. The crowd was also really responsive to our show so that was neat.

This year's Lenaea Theatre Festival was so much fun! I had a very busy time at the festival because I was competing in three different ways. I performed in the one act as well as doing my own monologue and musical theatre performance. All three were a blast and I even won a bronze award for my monologue. The competition was a success!

Juliet's Ghost was a unique experience in that it was entirely student-directed. This required a lot of teamwork from our class and a lot of problem-solving.

Lenaea 2020 was super fun! I was able to participate in workshops and see several one-act performances. We also received great feedback on our one-act performance.

Well the lenses festival was a great experience and the most ideas that can form in other schools acting.
