  1. Use your ground plan and elevation plan to guide your 3D creation
  2. Use a 1/2 box (provided and create all set elements as envisioned in your plans using material provided &/or materials your bring in
  3. Use a least 1 file folder hanger to create legs, drops, or backdrops

CJ13: Mask Design

​Draft a design for a character mask

Requirements:
  1. Sketch ideas in your journal of a character mask from different angles
  2. Consider physical features that will aid in telling the audience more about the character
  3. Complete a final draft that uses color, fine, detail, & an angle that can show the dimension of the mask

CJ12: Puppet Play Poster

Create a marketing poster in preparation of your puppet performance

Requirements:
  1. Sketch ideas in your creative journal
  2. Consider symbolism that could help portray the show's theme or main characters
  3. Develop a finalized poster in your journal or on additional paper
  4. Use color & fine detail to bring the poster to life
  5. One poster from your group will be used during your performance, or, divide up the task among group members and use the posters as scene changes during your performance

CJ11: Puppet Play Script

Create a script for your puppet presentation in week 12.

Requirements:
  1. Write the script on Google Drive, sharing with all 4-5 group members
  2. Create a 4-5 minute play incorporating each of your group's characters
  3. Each character must be engaged in the play for at least 30 seconds of action and dialogue
  4. Ensure the play has a distinct beginning, interesting middle, & fulfilling end

CJ6: Inspiration Collage

This is the first step in your multi-week Set Design Project

Requirements: 
  1. Gather images from magazines that inspire you in terms of color, form, texture, etc.
  2. Collage the gathered image in a thoughtful way, considering the principles & elements of design
  3. Final work must be at least 12" x 12", fully collaged

CJ5: Edit, Revise,
​& Refine Your Monologue

Share your monologue with a peer and consider their feedback as you refine and edit your monologue.

Requirements:
  1. Read your monologue aloud to a peer
  2. Allow your partner time to offer critical and thoughtful feedback in writing, via the provided form
  3. Edit your monologue considering the feedback and discussion with a peer
  4. Begin the rehearsal process by scoring your edited monologue for beats and tactics

CJ4: Draft a Monologue

Draft a first person narrative that you will recite onstage in a few weeks

Requirements:
  1. Draft the monologue in your journal
  2. Write around two pages, so when recited it's about 1-2 min. long
  3. Write through the voice of a fully realized character experiencing a story that has a beginning, middle, & end
  4. Be school appropriate in theme & content. Something you'll be proud to present in week 6

CJ3: Play Writing

Draft a script that brings classic characters to life through dialogue.

Requirements:​
  1. Brainstorm using the picture to the right as a helpful guide
  2. Incorporate at least 2 familiar characters in an original dialogue
  3. Creatively bring the action to life with a beginning, middle, & end
  4. At least 3 pages of dialogue (regular handwriting & spacing)

​Use art as inspiration for creative thinking:
  1. Based on your interpretation of the piece, write a creative short story that is 2-3 pages
  2. Consider adorning the writing with visuals that bring your story to life
