Choosing the script was probably the hardest part because there was a lot of good scripts to choose from. I really enjoyed creating the makeup, hair, and costume looks. This project let me incorporate my own personal interests. This unit has taught me that it takes a lot to have a show and every little design or part of the show matters.

This was interesting and not real but, its awesome to see how a scene can be made. I also seen makeup being put on. I seen the motor and gun as well as costumes. There were cops that were blocking off the streets where they were taping. Actors playing a role of their characters. 5/26/2023 11:28:19 am
IT WAS. AN INCREDIBLEY STRESSFUL TIME. AND NOT WORTH IT AT ALL HOWEVER I DID HAVE FUN. I wished I had picked a different play, though. Ideally something about clowns

Choosing the script was probably the hardest part of the project. Then the lighting was out of my league. but what I really got out of it was there is alot of thing that go in to theater.

I couldn't really find scripts that I liked, so I just picked a script on something I already know. It was kind of difficult finding the costumes designs and stuff since I had to research what the costumes were about and what time period they were from. This unit taught me that there is a lot more stuff happening behind the scenes than I anticipated and you need a lot of people to get a show going.

The play I chose was The Other Room. I really liked how this show looked and when I read it I decided to do my project on this. I was stuck on how to be very stylish and creative with a play. read the play and understood what was needed and the basic requirements which is what I did. Then once I presented my final piece I didn't think It was too bad, it was quite easy actually. I basically learned all the needs of a play and how much stuff are required for it, including patience.

In technical theatre, I really only new about costumes, which I still didn't know much about. But the unit opened more doors for me and for what I can do for theatre. I find a lot of possible futures in this pathway.

It was a little hard at first to find a script i liked, that also followed the things i was looking for. The journey was really fun and i liked being able to think about the play and all the little details within it. My presentation i did a menu from the play, and i believe it went very well. This has taught me about all the things that go into a play and the meaning behind each small thing in that play. Overall, i loved this unit because it again pushed me to a level of creativity i have never been to before. Thank you for being my teacher this year cant wait to do stage 2!

The process of choosing a script, reading it and breaking it down into different parts and kind of making the characters was really fun. I got to envision and pursue different characters to my liking and change them based on their personalities. I struggled with creating a tangible object, at first I considered making a set, then just wearing something in, or doing makeup and take a picture of it, but I decided on making a menu with the food listed in my play. My presentation was a little choppy, I was really nervous and not quite prepared but I think it went well. This unit has taught me that getting over the fear of presenting isn't that hard, considering everyone else is doing the same project and they probably feel just as nervous.

This project unit was fun to make, however in the first week I've didn't start, I barely had enough time to finish this but luckily I did finish on time and it was fun to paint, draw and create this project of my own... I'd hoped in the future I could do something like this later often but with me being prepared... I've learned to start things from the beginning even if you feel numb about it

Overall I loved being able to do this... and by that I mean being able to read people's thoughts (author's) on how they created this play. From this I got to like experience it myself by being like the designer of the play. However, I now see how difficult it is to make and design because all of these steps and process takes lots of time. In the beginning, I only chose the play/script and read through it and after I started designing... which was the costumes, sound, lightning, ect. Every detail was like it's own flavor/topping because it wasn't just there, each object had it's own meaning (role) to the play. Most of all, I loved how I got to watch everyone present because everyone did something different and used their own creativity.

Finding a script was a little hard because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do in the beginning but when I found the script I liked it was very easy to put my ideas on paper. While I had all the ideas in my head it was difficult to find what I wanted on the internet luckily I found everything I needed so the creative process was not that hard. This unit taught me that there is more to the theatre than what I thought. And making physical designs are hard but I really liked this unit.

During this unit/project, I learned about all kinds of different technical and design aspects and jobs, beyond just regular stage crew. Choosing one script was a bit difficult, because I found a few that I liked. But after that, the project was relatively easy. The script didn't describe the setting or characters too much, so a majority of the design choices were left up to the reader's imagination. I came up with the character's designs, made a model of what I thought the set would look like, and presented it

Overall this project was a major W, a 10/10. Perusing scripts was very interesting because I got to look through different plays and choose the one that sparked the most interest in me. The creative journey of piecing the different elements of this play together from notes, to rough draft, to ultimately a final piece I'm proud of was a very time consuming yet enjoyable process. I got to use my creativity to really explore the world of theater and set design as well as costumes and technical roles. My final presentation was something that I was really proud of in the end and was one of the most enjoyable presentations I've ever given for a class. This class, and project have really given me a new understanding and appreciation of all the thinking, planning, and designing that goes into putting on a show. :))

It was a little hard finding the scripts because a lot of them didn't interest me too much. I originally wanted to do regular Romeo and Juliet, but then found the seussified version and decided to do that one instead because it seemed more fun. Finding inspirations was pretty easy. The only difficult part was finding Dr Seuss paintings that I liked and would like to somewhat incorporate in the play. There was also a lot of work that I had to put into it, especially thinking about the costumes because it's Seuss and not regular typical clothing. The sensory designs were the hardest to decide what I needed with the lighting. It was still very fun making all of the pieces of the play.

The unit of designing and directing a play was actually really fun making something and putting your own touch on it.There is a lot that goes into directing and making a play with all the cast and crew and designing the outfits makeup and hair and stage design, but its a fun challenge especially if you don't have a lot to work with. My final presentation was a relief but also good especially showing what I would do or what I would change about the props and designs. This unit has taught me a lot with how making a play and how much stress but yet accomplishment with what you did for the play you help make.

This entire process has been very interesting because, i have usually focused on the acting part of a show and spend most of time learning how to be the best actor possible. When i found my play, I and You, i was immediately inspired. I could imagine being in this play, so i wanted to know more about making the play come to life. I especially found the costume and make-up designs fascinating, i really loved using my creativity in a new way. This play explores topics about life and death, which was a creative challenge, to create a logo that showed this. This has given me more interest into what goes into the back stage aspects of putting on a preformance

It was pretty fun to find a ton of options for my script, but i really did like the one I ended up using. The script itself is really simple, there's not many props or stage needs, besides lighting, sound, and a boat. but even those are really simple. It was also really fun to design all the costumes and makeup for the different characters.

the process for me was a bit tiring but i just decided to go with a story i know and went with that because its also childhood stories i decided to go with. designing it was interesting because there wasnt a lot of colors that i wanted to match with my logo but i just tried going with a simple blue and golden color for the words. character designs were hard and easy because the script already had an idea for what the characters should already look like which helped out a lot. presenting it i didnt like because i was really nervous and stuff but at least i did it. this unit taught me how much work was put into it

Throughout the many weeks of creating our own set design, it was a long, creative process. First, choosing the play was an important decision, I wanted a play that I completely understood so I could thoroughly design the set. I needed to think creatively and think about everything visually even though we were just given a script. I thought my presentation slides were well written and organized. The slides quickly got to the point but were also very descriptive. Overall, it was a good unit and it showed me how much effort and thought is put into just rough drafts of a set design.

Making my play started off as confusing but eventually I got the hang of it and knew what I wanted to make. Once I figured out what play I wanted to do I just thought of what I would think would look best for it. I took inspiration from video games to which helped in the process. Overall after this unit I learned about the time that goes into making a theater production and how you need to think about and make everything for it.

I had some experience in crew before taking this class so I had some understanding of the work that goes behind a production. I mainly worked in props and stage management and sound and nothing else. Working on this helped me get insight on what it's like to work on other aspects of design full time and I honestly enjoyed it. It helped me see what other leads would be doing while i was doing my own thing. Overall it helped open my eyes on what else goes on for the rest of theater and i found out i do really like working on sound, the class itself also helped me be a bit more confident in my work as well.

The hardest part about this project was chiding the script because none of them looked interesting and they all seemed confusing and long. Once I finally found a script that was interesting I really liked picking the outfits and designing them. From this unit I learned that each piece of a play matters no matter how big or small it seems.

Finding a script to use for my design pitch was surprisingly not very difficult. I didn't have to search that hard to find one I liked which gave me more time to create my presentation. Because my play was set in the early 2000s, it was fun to find inspiration for the costumes and makeup. The journey through finding and creating my presentation was fun and interesting. Presenting my final pitch made me a bit nervous but I think it went well. Overall this unit really shed the light on the vast amount of jobs in this industry. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes, not only backstage, but other things like advertising and managing money. It was a very fun unit.

So, for choosing a play I liked I just skimmed through the summaries of like maybe 6 plays that I thought had cool title logos then I found this one that was kinda Sci Fiy and I thought it was cool. I originally wanted the whole thing to be SUPER basic, but as I went on looking for different cool designs I fell to more of a dream like or outer spacey vibe for the whole thing. I did a make up look on a mannequin head that was supposed to resemble my play's main character, I didn't really get the emo-y look I was going for but it still turned out good.

I loved everything about this unit, especially hearing other people's wonderful ideas. I remember just seeing the play I chose and ignoring it at first, but when I opened the play to read it, I fell in love with the characters, and the set. I remember wanting a thrust stage but I couldn't have one, so I chose a boring proscenium stage, but i spiced it up. My final presentation could have been better, but it wasn't bad, i wish i could have been more through

The way that I found the script that I wanted to use was by looking through the musicals provided, and seeing Clue which brought me a lot of nostalgia. The creative process was honestly the hardest part as I struggled to actually read through the script and it was hard for me to find details because I didn't really want to do the assignment. My final presentation was a lot easier as I already had the details and just had to arrange them in a way that I liked. This assignment has taught me how much work and effort goes into making and organizing a play because the director's vision can go in a lot of directions upon reading the script provided.

Finding a play script for my presentation wasn't too difficult, but the whole process of showing it off the classroom was an extreme hassle. I had to think very hard about how to make my Google Slides both engaging and informational. Furthermore, the model for the stage was tricky and didn't always turn out how I wanted it. There were parts of it that did not glue in well or some of the designs simply looked off. Overall, I think this was the hardest project I've done for the class. The previous assignments weren't as big and hard hitting for my grade unlike this.

I hated the original story's that where posted, so i looked under middle school and I found a funny story. It was exactly what I was looking for. Drew out the design I wanted. I then had the brilliant idea of abandoned building, then i thought, a abandoned theatre which then made the project a lot more fun. i did the slides last minute because that's when i do my best work. I watched a lot of apocalyptic shows to get inspired on clothing, what exactly i wanted.

When I first was looking for a script it was very overwhelming and hard how my script caught my eye was the title. While I was reading my script I notice all of the relatable and funny thing they had in it that's what caught my attention for sticking with this script. It wasn't hard for me to find a outfit and character design for them. For the set design I just searched up 18th century style house and looked through and found the perfect ones to put as my set design. This unit has taught me that it's very important to have the right setting and theme for the play you are trying to create.

Picking the script was fairly easy because I am interested in a lot of things so I just picked randomly. I then read the script and liked it. I began making my physical prop. I chose to do a set in the funeral scene because I felt it would be easiest. I began making every prop out of paper in the time spand of 2 days which was not to challenging for me. I than began my presentations which did not take me very long and overall this was easy

I had only had some experience in crew, mainly sound, but mainly I had experience about what some of the process of creating the show through an actor's POV. Choosing the script was somewhat difficult, I would look at some of the plays that I love like Pride and Prejudice and more, and I wanted to do those plays but I also wanted to learn about a new play and challenge myself. Once I read the script that I ended up choosing, it had some decorating and fashion elements that I like, which really pulled me in. Plus I loved plot of celebrity feuds. The creative journey was a bit difficult, especially since I am a very indecisive person, but I was really excited to dive in indulge in presenting how I would design 1940s old Hollywood Glamour. My favorite part was my inspo board of the set and the outfits. My final presentation was a bit too long and could've been shortened, but overall I loved theme, and my visions. This unit has taught me to be more creative and it showed be how deep and how much more it takes to create a play.

Picking the script was really hard for me because I had no idea what the technical needs would be, for example I wouldn't want a show that uses lots of lighting because that's not what I'm interested in. For me finding inspiration and making it my own was really easy because of they play that I chose also a lot of the costumes I didn't even have to find inspiration for. My final presentation could have been better if I was more confident and if I had notecards. But I love the prop I made. This unit has taught me how hard thespians work and how much thought they put into everything I have even more respect for them. 5/26/2022 01:00:36 pm
Looking behind the scenes of theatre production taught me a lot about theatre and it's culture. What I'm going to take the most from this unit is the many different roles and jobs that people have to make certain plays possible. Finding a good script was so much fun. The one idea I had in mind was Batman, who I love and idol so much. Batman is super cool, he is a DC superhero who listens to Nirvanna, and I'm guessing Radiohead. I chose my script Bat Boy because it reminded me a lot of those ideals. I hope to see more vengeance.

I was very stuck on what script to choose, but I ended up finding a cinderella rewrite. It was cinderella with a comedic twist, I overall chose this because of my childhood connections to the movie. I used my memory, online sites, etc. to help me with my final presentation. I really liked this project because the limits were so small, it was fun to skim through the other scripts and then finalize my choice. After researching and finding things to use I gathered my knowledge to make the slides.

Well when I was introduced to the website playscripts I wanted to choose a more thrilling play, either it was going to be action or horror, and that when I saw this one play called "The Hallmarks of Horror". So when I started my presentation on this play I did some research on both horror films and horror plays and what information was suitable. During my process on the assignment I actually had to look at other movies and tv shows in order to do this, and even create my own poster based off the original which was a little hard, but in the end I managed to get all the slides done before it was due. And to be honest I'm actually glad with the results because I finally got everything done on time. But if there is one thing that this unit taught is that it feels great to be creative with your work and be yourself instead of some else.

i would say the script was pretty hard to choose because you'll have do research on it and see what's it about. For the play sets i think it was most difficult because you have to imagine what it will be like but i mostly just chose making props instead.. This unit taught me some much about theater and how the people in theater have to go through to makes movie or play real and for the audience to enjoy so i think i really liked this unit cause it let me be creative and see where my brain thinks

The process for choosing a play that I wanted to do my project on was trying to find genres of books and movies that I like. Which is romantic, mysteries, and murder and I ended up choosing Kill Me, Deadly which perfectly matched this description. After reading some of the script it takes place in the mid 1900s and it was giving mafia vibes. So I made sure in incorporate style from the 1900s but also give it a dark scary look to fit the mafia part of the play. After this process I presented the final product to the class and I was nervous at first but after I thought I did very well and I am proud of myself for finishing such a big project. This unit has taught me that filming a movie or casting a play is not as easy as it looks. Some parts were difficult for me and I don't even have to bring them to life, but imagining actually making all of it would be much harder. I applaud all the people who work behind the scenes and make the play/movie look how it is supposed to look.

This unit challenged me and came in at an odd time in my life, I found myself confused and lost at times, I struggled finding a piece I connected with, but when I did it felt right. Unfortunately I did not have the chance to present, but going back to do it again I feel that I would have a firmer outline and plan of attack. This creative journey was a bit hard not gonna lie, because this whole little unite or ever since this started we had to learn how to make our own theater and know how to direct it. The books we used to make our own was hard as well, because finding a good story to tell was stressful for me. When I was searching for my pitch idea I thought I wasn't gonna fine anything. It all seemed so boring until I got to like the 14th page and saw it. I saw the poster and once I read a bit about it I was hooked. I thought it was really funny that someone spontaneously combusted. The whole process of designing costumes and props was really easy, until it got to the set. I found the set to be the hardest bc I don't know perspective. But anyways presenting was super scary I until I got to the second slide then it was ok. I still really liked this unit and got to express my creativity.

I really enjoyed this project a lot! When I first started designing the set for the play I chose I was struggling a bit because I didn't know what to start with. I had so many visions and I didn't know what to start with. The most challenging part was probably designing the costumes because I didn't know what colors would be best. Overall, I really enjoyed this class and this project.

While creating, and imagining this one act, I was stumped at first with how to tackle this. Creating a show from only a script is difficult, but once I got into things it was very fun. I had a great time putting together set designs, and playing with makeup again! Makeup and the art of it is something that I thoroughly enjoy, and I'm glad that I got to use it for a class final! :)

I find this unit pretty enjoying and fun as I work through the process. Looking and find the script can I really stressful somewhat for me since it feels like you're looking at hundreds of really good movies and you could only be able to watch one. The Krampus Carol story caught my eyes because it is similar type of story I liked with mix of mysterious and fantasy. I had lots of fun dressing up with my makeup though I can tell I didn't do really well as I wanted when I presented but that's okay. One of the ideas I had during the stage designing was to have a bed and have the area surrounding it Christmas themed and then it hit to me when I finished the design that it does not fit with Krampus vibes since his outfit is more dark and gloomy. So, I came up with the idea to have the light just focus on the bed and everything else is pitch black during the scene of him sleeping on the bed. When the lights goes out, the scene changed which the light will be brighten up the whole area while having the bed and carpet removed during the light going out for the new scene.

It really showed me how shows are really detailed and the little things do matter also how much work and effort are made into them. It gave me the creative liberty to be free with my design and perspective. This unit was great

I liked this unit a lot because some of it was just reading plays and musicals. I really liked being able to make a set design based on the play or musical because you got to use your own ideas. This really worked out for me because my play was the "The Seussificaiton of Romeo And Juliet" so I got to take a lot of inspiration from things that were already really famous and things that a lot of people already love. My design process was a lot of trial and error and a lot of hot glue gun burns. However, it was all really fun to do because they were my ideas of the play. This unit taught me that there's a lot that goes into set designing and making a play. I really wish however, that I looked more into costuming designing and actually making something physical to wear. Overall, this was a really fun unit.

I enjoyed being able to read and pick one play to present about. I was able to have a lot of fun with it since I could do just about whatever I wanted and make anything I needed to in order for my presentation to stand out (spoiler alert, it did).

i liked reading plays because of all the good ideas. the creative proses was easy because i had a lot to think about and it was a good show i picked. for my physical item i made a health inspector badge because there's a health inspector in the play. overall it was fun to do this.

it was hard at first because there were so many plays and i didnt know what play to choose because it was overwhelming. It was a lot of work finding inspirations to use but not completely copy and make your own version of. For presentations it was hard to say everything that you did and all the work you did in one smooth presentation.

Finding the script was fun especially since i found one about fairy tales. My creative journey was fun i liked drawing out costume designs and just creating a play. My final presentation had lots of changes for the costumes but overall this unit taught me to enjoy class.

Finding a script that I thought was interesting was difficult. I think I looked through a handful of scripts before finally deciding on one. The play I chose was very interesting, and didn't require any crazy designs. Thinking up designs was much easier than making my stage model even though my model was pretty simple. The clothing was my favorite part to design and present, but overall I am still not fully comfortable presenting in front of the class. This final has made me realize how much time and effort goes into each and every play. I think I respect everyone involved in theatrical careers a lot more after receiving this final.

This unit has showed me what it is like to be the one setting up something to entertain people and I just loved that whole feeling of it. Seeing everyone do their presentation and everyone also love the feeling of be able to make a show they wanted and wished they could make made me realize the love for making something is in everyone. This unit was the most fun unit in Stage 1 and I wish I can do it all over again

I enjoyed this unit because most of it was reading plays and designing them to our desire. This really let my mind flow with ideas, I couldn't stop thinking. I wanted a play that was easy to reenact and didn't require much work. I had some errors with like costumes because at first I wanted to go with a junkie outfit, but I didn't want to buy a whole costume, so I improvised and made a "magician" costume. However, it was still fun in a way because I was able to make the design more funnier than it is. This unit overall has taught me a lot, like set designing and the work that goes into it. In the end, I am really glad that I made people laugh and made their day.

I really enjoyed this unit because it really allowed us to harness our imagination and created something that was freely ours. There were no boundaries and we got to just let our creativity take the lead. I enjoyed looking at scripts because we were able to see all the different styles and types of theater there was. My play was an adaptation of Alice in wonderland. I was able to take inspiration from the original movie and put my own kind of flair in it. There were some scenes that I really like how they were made so I was able to take inspiration from those and got to remake some f my own. I had a lot of fun creating costumes and set designs. I got to put what I had in my head and put it on paper. I had a couple mishaps with my design prop breaking multiple times. But I was pleased by how it came out in the end. It kind of shows the creative process how you can strait from nothing, have something, something go wrong, and having to start over. But you will still have something amazing in the end.

when looking for a script I had a hard time finding one that interested me because I wanted something that was funny that I also knew a bit about. I ended up finding a funny script with fairy tales. after reading it I decided what scene i wanted to focus in on and designed thigs based off of the scene from there. I had a hard time modernizing things while keeping a fairytale feel to the play and had to incorperate humor while keeping the very serious factor of back stabbing in my designs. I was able to get what I wanted through to the audience and got full credit so I think I did good. I never knew theatre was so hard.

I have enjoyed this unit, but the first unit was my most liked unit. Nevertheless, it was challenging which is something that makes me exited for things. I was able to once again use my talents in to perform well. I have gained a lot of information that I did not have before having this class and that is something that I expect from all classes. Learning environment was open for adjustments and different ideas. Mr. Hanks has done a wonderful job with teaching and understanding when there were some troubles. I would recommend this class as something different then the usual classes you have.

Honestly I found a script easily, it was one of the first ones I found and enjoyed. I really liked making the logo and with the help of Reagan I was able to decide which one to use. Another reason was that I had so many ideas that I liked and it was fun designing them. The hardest part for me was the hair. I can't draw to save my life so trying to do the hair was pretty challenging but Makiah was able to help me an my idea come to life. This unit taught me some valuable lessons about what it takes to make a play come to life and how challenging it could be. Overall I really like this unit.

Picking a play was easy as I already knew what I was looking for. I spent the majority of the project planning and designing my final drafts. Crafting my physical artifact and final designs was time consuming yet entertaining. I appreciated all the freedom and broad directions given as I wanted to change more than a few things in the script. Creating final drafts for the sensory portion was a bit underwhelming but at least it was entertaining. Presenting the project went well! However, I do regret not plastering a photo of my final designs on the screen as the audience could not see the paper very well in a dimly lit room. Overall I enjoyed this unit and class as a whole! I realize how much technical work is done behind the scenes. The cast and crew are both equally vital to a show's success.

When reading and finding a play I found many that were interesting but not quite right for what i like. I would start to read but then stop once I realized I didn't really like it. Once I found the one I liked, it kind of clicked and I immediately began to think of inspirations. The script had many details, except the setting. It was easy to find inspirations for victorian houses, clothes and props. Through it was hard to figure out how to set up the stage. I was unsure of how to design it in a way where it didn't look bare, but also it didn't block anybody's view because of the thrust stage. In the end I was able to settle on an idea I liked thanks to Mr. Hanks. My presentation was fairly easy, but I struggled to create my prop. It kept breaking, but I had a lot of fun creating a teacup. The outfit design was really fun to try and experiment with a new website and style. My setting, as previously stated was harder, but the during the presentation it was really nice to explain my ideas. The sensory designs were a bit harder, but my gobo was an easier way to explain what I wanted. I have learned more about lighting, jobs and how to design a set. I have really enjoyed this unit and the class in general.

In my experience, finding my script was pretty easy. Once I read the play I knew it was the one I wanted to work on. However I was hard finding a set time that I wanted for my inspiration. I ended up going with 1950's. It was more of a jumping off point for me. I really loved the costumes I ended up designing. I thought they fit the characters well and I am really proud of them. The hardest part was definitely the hair. I had a vision but I couldn't execute them well on paper. My set design I had a good time with because I craft miniatures all the time. I learned a lot more about the theater. I learned how hard/challenging it can be to put a show together. Overall this was a really fun class. I met a lot of new people as well.

To be honest when we did our book libraries and reading them I probably was confident about it. This kind of worked out for me because my play pitch was "Game of Tiaras" so I go a lot of Inspiration from the Game of Thrones and Alegria and Most of my design worked out pretty good. Overall this Unit is really better than other units.

not being super fast and/or not giving myself plenty of time was interesting, I'm not sure how I feel about the final product, the prop was good, but could use some more, I guess time, in fact, since I didn't really have anything to do with it, for the talent show thing, I destroyed it, and I think most people were shocked, but liked that, so eh, I guess I'm still proud of it though, and the other part of the final product was just me talking about all the point I thought about in designing the play into a production or something, I still thought about each part of it, but it was just kind of slow going through it all off the top of my head, still pretty fun though, and the actual making process I don't think had a whole lot of interesting things to talk about, it was I guess me thinking about what to do, and trying to make what I have envisioned with what I have, then trying to just cut and paste it all together into what I was hoping for, then I thought think about roughly what I was going to say up there, though I did have a good piece of cardboard left over that I used to write stuff on and look like I had more of it planed out than I did, oh yeah, also what I made was like a monitor, for a computer or something like that, it wasn't too bad, pretty happy about it, and it's fate, I guess just the talking part was kind of slow, but well, maybe you could say that's to be expected when you do what I did, so yeah, though I had fun, am happy with it, and the play I chose as well, which was "The Internet is so Distract-OH LOOK A KITTEN", a good play that I'm happy I chose, read, and decided to do this with.

I feel like designing the set was the hardest thing to do because a lot went into it and it took a long time to create. the best part was probably reading the scripts because it was fun reading different plays/musicals. I loved how I got to create my own ideas into everything. I learned that a lot more thought goes into everything than I originally had thought and I got to learn so much more.

Finding a script was pretty hard I wanted to do something horror but horror but all the ones I found had some type of comedy in it and at the end I decided to go for the comedy horror, I knew what I wanted to doing for my logo but It was pretty hard to draw it the other hard thing was the setting the rest was easy and simple things to think about like costumes and clothes, overall this unit taught me that with the right mind you can do anything you imagine.

I really enjoyed looking through the scripts, it was fun. I loved getting to express my ideas and thoughts in this class. It was very tough to find a play that I enjoyed, but I worked with what I had! To be perfectly honest, I was not prepared for this level of creativity. The junior year senioritis hit me like a brick on a windy day. Although I was worried about going on stage, the fear went away once I started talking. I really enjoyed presenting because I took the time to research my play and felt confident in my knowledge. I've learned that it takes a team to make the dream B^]].

For me, deciding the script I was going to do was a very easy choice. At first, when I couldn't find it, I almost thought I would have to choose a different script, but luckily I was able to get it on a different website. As for inspirations and the like, most of it was all from my memory of the Percy Jackson books. Going into this play, I knew I wanted to do ask much as I could to get it book-accurate. As soon as I started considering what I wanted to make for my artifact, my mind went to a sword. Which one? The easiest and least described one, obviously. I have the perfect chance to make it as book-accurate as I wanted. This unit has taught me that planning a play is even harder than I originally thought, especially when you have to do it all by yourself.

It was fun to pick my own script and make everything the way I wanted to make it. I really enjoyed making the set because it was fun to design and make my own. I also enjoyed making the physical designs as well, it was also fun to design and make my own. Ya it was a cool fun experience.

It was difficult to choose a play to focus on, and when I finally did, I ended up basically using the set design straight from the show. To make up for it, I tried my best to make everything else as original to me as I could. That proved difficult sonce everything from the show is so iconic for it already, but I think I made it work. I learned that it's really difficult to do all that, especially by yourself on such a strict time limit.

Working on this show showed me the hard work and thought processes just to put on a show. Big or small there is a lot of detail, hard work, manufacturing, thought processes, trial and error, that go into making a dream into a reality. I would say this is my favorite unit and brainstorming ideas was very creative and fun. I might seem like a lot of work but if you do the little things in the end the project will be a piece of cake.

During my process of making my pitch design at first I thought it was going to be easy but it was a lot more work than I thought. It was easy for me to pick what musical I wanted to do but then then I realized there is so much thought put into theatrical performances. I had a lot of fun mapping everything out though and I enjoyed having my own creative freedom.

this unity was probably my favorite, and as always I learned a lot of interesting things. the difficult part was chose the scrip because after that different ideas came to me. it was really fun had the possibility to make them a real project. when I presented in front of the class I was less nervous than the beginning of the class and I'm very happy about it.

In my opinion I think that the challenging part was designing the set because although I had it planned out in paper, when it came to making it into real life and using the right size for everything to make it look more realistic, it was hard trying to get everything to fit and make it look settable. Overall, the project itself has taught me that a lot of creative minds have to get together in order to be able to create even a small set. Every detail was thought of thoroughly and deeply.

I knew that I wanted to do a musical because it's my preferred form of theatre to both watch & act in, I originally looked at Playscripts but nothing interested me, then I looked at Concord Theatricals. I was originally looking at Bye Bye Birdie, then I saw the Rodger's and Hammerstein's Musicals, and decided on Cinderella. I had never designed anything for a production before, and I had a hard time with taking inspirations but not making things too similar to other productions. I also had a hard time choosing a set design and how the set design would work in the theatre, because there are SO MANY OF THEM in the show. My presentation went well, I designed the Fairy Godmother's costume, made a physical prop, the Fairy Godmother's wand, and Ella's masquerade mask. I also made a slideshow on canva, with more details about the show & it's needs. This unit taught me to appreciate designers, producers, directors, basically just all the crew of a show, more, because my goodness is putting a show together difficult. There are so many elements and it takes a very long time.

Selecting a script was kinda difficult because they are all so long and I ended up just picking one with a cool cover art. Designing things for the show was fun and the ideas came to me pretty easly but it still took me a pretty long time to do because I struggled to put them on paper. The presentation was fine, I didn't practice presenting at all but people seemed to enjoy it and the audience was very respectful. This unit has taught me to be more mindful while creating things, I always knew that you should do a rough draft and a final but I didnt know that there was a specific creative process to follow.
