In Alice in Wonderland we did a lot of things. We made the new set by spray painting over the old one with different colors and shapes. We also got new scripts and roles and it changes for some of us throughout the play. We did auditions for Alice in the beginning. We detailed the set more than the Trojan War. We also had brand new curtains and was led by Innovation. We had people do make up and I had a rivalry with the Manhattan (Mad hatter).

when I first came to drama they had ended there last performance and they were striking the last performance and taking down the wall and I felt excited to start my first performance in drama. Then as the journey continued we gotten our scripts and we began to read through the parts that we had. I really enjoyed that all of us had a chance to be the main part in the play because it gave us all experience. once I got my parts we began to rehearse and feel comfortable in those parts and began to make those characters alive and I believe that was very beneficial for all of us because we got to get in the feel of the characters we were assigned. once we started to paint the set and add curtains it all started to come together as one big adventure and that is when everyone started to work together and help each other out with the play and the characters. Next came with costuming and staging and that was all apart of bringing the show to life and giving emotion and feeling to everything. I believe the most stressful part of all of this for me was rehearsing because it was becoming to the end to start to perform and I realized that the reason we did this whole thing was to make it great in front of an audience and there was plenty of downs that came along with this show but it was worth it to get to all the ups because it has to rain before the rainbow comes and I believe that is what it was for the people in Alice in wonderland because through all the crazy madness we still pulled it together and made it happen.

Advance drama. Well when I first heard that I was being put into this class I was scared and filled with excitement. All I could think about was how the class was going to be and how every one was going to react when they find out a new kid is in their class. At first I had my doubts I felt very insecure. I thought no one would accept me. But man was I wrong not only was I put into a class, I was put into a family. I met new people that I grew to care about like my friend Paris. She was the first person to include me in things and invited me places. She is so generous and amazing, I don't know what I would have done without her. After a day or two of hanging with Paris and Tristan everyone started talking to me and I started to bond with them. And wow this class struck me in surprise. Everyone has talent but this class is filled with a lot more than just talent. The way they performed on stage was so great. You can notice their commitment and passion for theater. All I have to say is that I am so grateful that I am in this class with these people.

Alice in wonderland was a success. I was pumped up when I got the role of the mad hatter. When we read through I started the KKnave of Hearts trend. I liked painting and getting the set design setup. The staging is the hardest part when you have yet to memorize your lines. But once I did the staging went smoothly. The matinee was amazing. The performances were great. Never thought I would have a face full of make up. HD was terrible Humpty dumpty was the worst part of the play .

When we started to learn the lines I thought it would be a little difficult this time because there were words that did not sap that was ignored but I asked and my colleagues and teachers explained to me that it was and how it is premonition, then we start acting and I sometimes do not sap But mr hanks me alludo and it was a little easier the only thing I was missing was to understand the lines to keep on better. When I did it, the first time I did not feel safe because I was sick but I wanted my degree then I try and when I was well I left well my friends from the group helped me a lot, apart we also said the room in the style of what we were grabbing and I think That looked well we also created different things that we would need such as what we would wear clothes to act, mr hanks gave us ideas, as for example he asked me what character was doing me and I was a soldier then he told me I needed to look taller and taller. Also every day we prepared more if you put them counting the times that we did the act that lasted more than 1:30 minutes what happened more than 40 times in 2 months and looking at it looks difficult but with my partners I think time passed very fast And now I believe that everything that you want to do can be but you occupy a little practice and if you do not try you will stay with the doubt

Alice's Adventures has showed me a really good time these past few weeks. Ever since I first got the role of Alice, I was very excited to try my best to make sure that I played my part well. It was really fun working with the rest of my class for the first time to make this show come together. Along with our time on the stage, our time behind the set was very fun. Building and painting and working with the screen and stencils was a good way to bring us together behind the scenes. I feel like if I don't give Yanna praise for those curtains I'm going to regret it in some way. Really, almost everyone deserves praise for getting this good show together in only a few short weeks. Performing for the first time for our fellow students was scary, but fun having some friends in the audience. I really liked that they wrote us letters afterward. The showings themselves were also nice because we had more supporters. I've had a really good time with this show and I can't wait for our next project.

When we first started doing "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" we had to strike the set from our last performances, meaning we had to cover up any paintings/props for the use of this play. Eventually couple days later we got 1 page of the script for the audition of the Alice's. Paris, Yanna, Joann, Shannon and I were fighting over who would become Alice in the play. Knowing that we are against each other, the girls and I were in for a surprise. The director, Mr. Hanks decided to give all of us the roll of Alice and each of us would have our own scenes. We also had character roles. This means that the actors and actresses volunteered to play a character so they could be selected to act that character out in the play. We soon got our roles and got our scripts and did a read through from the actual scripts. After having read through, we got to design our sets and made curtains to hide the set and pull them up before we started the play. We had Yanna working on the curtains and her new nickname became "Innovation." We began painting the set and working on our mushrooms that were displayed on set. The actors and actresses cut out numbers as stencils to have the number spray painted on set to make it look like a game board set. We started staging which took us maybe about 6 weeks or up until we had to give our performances. It was really difficult to stay on task because we have a really dysfunctional family and we all enjoy each other's company which make us miss many of our cues to be out on stage. For my character as the Red Queen, it was really hard to act like a chess piece. I was constantly looking down at the "checkered, chessboard like game board on the floor, but I immediately had to look up because my crown would fall. The crown really hurt my head because of the tightness and it wouldn't stay up to show that the crown looked like a chess piece. I was lucky to play Alice in 3 scenes. It was fairly easy, but at times it was really rough. I got to play a really sweet and sympathetic girl which I can relate to. Closer to the performance time, we got to costume and figure out our outfits which never really took a lot of time. Something that was tough for me to remember were two of the props that I had to bring up on stage. The first thing that I had to remember to bring on stage with me was a flamingo during scene 4. Also in another scene I had to preset a shawl on the wall, but I got the help of Yanna to help me memorize to preset the shawl. About a week ago, the class and I gave about 6 performances. 2 performances were given to classmates and 4 were given to family and friends. During these performances, my adrenaline kept on running because I have really fast costume change and I was always worried that I wouldn't make it on set on time, but god was on my time I didn't fail to make it out on stage. The ups and downs of this performance is that we had curtains fall and we had to have "Innovation" (Yanna) fix them and make them perfect. We had to rerun scene 5 from act 2 , the court scene. We had to make sure that we didn't miss any lines and make the scene shorter than it needed to be. Overall, I was honored to play two roles: Alice and the Red Queen.

As soon as I found out that Theater 2 was doing Alice in wonderland I automatically wanted to be the queen of hearts. After auditions I got enrolled as the queen of hearts and the Cheshire cat! THE ONLY TWO ROLES I ACTUALLY WANTED TO BE I GOT TO BE! I WAS SO HAPPY AND EXCITED TO PLAY AS THESE CHARACTERS! It was hard getting into character, especially when the characters I got have very different personalities, but I pulled through and thought I did a pretty good job on both of the roles. The hardest part of the play was getting the set put together, mainly because there was so much to do. We spray painted, painted mushrooms, cut out stencils, and made a screen that had images projected onto it. It was entertaining to watch all of the boys eagerly wanting their make-up done. Oscar was the one who had the most poppin make-up out of them all thought. The experience was amazing and we all did good during the performances.

Alice and wonderland was a success. i had lot of fun during the making of the play even though i wasn't there for one of the shows. im ready for what comes next.

Alice oh Alice. When I first heard about Alice I thought it was gonna be a little childish. Trust me, it was. I remember first getting my roles as caterpillar, card soldier 1, and Tweedledum. I thought to myself, wow it's going to be lit. I immediately liked my characters but over time I loved them. The caterpillar was an animal who in the original got high. I thought I was gonna have a pipe but I later found out I wasn't I was sad and I wanted to cry. I later took on the part of mouse and gave up card soldier because sadly we lost a member. We had to adjust to the lost member but we managed somehow.

Striking the trojan war set was mildy depressing but i was very excited for the new memories we were going to make. I didn't really like the script, but I knew we could make something out of it. I was absent for the Alice in Wonderland auditions but I heard they were fun, I didn't know what character I was going to get but i really wanted to be the Mad Hatter. When I was told that I was to act the role of Dodo bird I felt very depressed, but my hopes were lifted when I was going to be the March Hare. I had so much fun with the character rehersal, walking around using a british accent was fun. Detailing the set and making the props was very fun and frusterating, because i ruined one of my shirts. The curtains were very very anoyying but in the end worked out good. Costuming was also anoyying, do to the fabric I had to wear and how hot it was that day. Staging was fun yet anoyying because I was absent so much. Reahersals were fun but anoyying also do to the talking we had to work with. Make up was fun and scary because it was my first time doing it. My performace with the characters was awesome in my opion, except when my ex decied to go backstage and mess up my system, which made me mess up on my best scene. The school matinee was fun but very stressful for me because I had to switch costumes in ten seconds. I was remembering the memories we had with the set when we were striking the set and it made me deppressed. OVER ALL WE DID GREAT BUT THE TROJAN WAR WAS BETTER BY FAR!!!!

My seconded performance of the year. The experience I had during this show was of high value to me. I adored how we auditioned for our characters. Also, how staging was done. We were able to make the play seem colorful and interactive. The first three shows we did felt dull and bland. I felt like this due to the crowd being so emotionless. I recall that a quarter of the audience were dozing off. The last two performances of the five felt as if it had more energy and life. I felt accomplished as we, the cast, did our job to entertain and please. Although things weren't flawless backstage; I still find it amazing how we pulled off the performance close enough to great .

In order to start our new show, Alice In Wonderland, we had to take down our great wall from the Trojan War. Taking that down was sad because I knew I would miss that show, but was also exciting because I knew we were going to start something way bigger. After we took down our old set we had our mini Alice auditions. All but one of the girls wanted to be Alice so the auditions were somewhat competitive. The next day we found out our roles and were surprised because all the girls who wanted to be Alice would be exactly that. The decision Mr. Hanks made was to have each Alice to have a few scenes. At first I think most of us were doubtful but in the end it made a really great contribution to the craziness of Wonderland. Every person had at least two roles and my other role was White Queen. We then started our read through of the whole play and the play seemed weird and crazy (which it is, but in a good way). Then it was time for the set to be built and that's when all the real chaos began.

It is amazing to see such a wonderful group of young adults perform Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Each performance got better after the first. Many of these students had to play more than one role. Each of them studied & learned their lines in such a short time and really got into character. The acting really put a tear in one's eye. Hopefully they will look back years to come. Comments are closed.
