Disney Aladdin Jr. was a long and hard job that took course over five months. On top of being Manal, one of Jasmine's entourages, I also worked to create choreography for each of the dance numbers. I also dabbled in work for props and costumes. I learned how to sew along the way to help adjust costume malfunctions.

We spent a few months rehearsing Aladdin, and in those weeks we spent several hours after school working vigorously, singing and memorizing choreography and lines. Being in theatre 2, I spent numerous class periods creating props and helping with costumes. Once tech week began it was even more stressful, trying to tie every scene and song together into a coherent plot, but it all worked out in the end. I enjoyed my first RCHS Productions musical greatly, and can't wait to do it again.

So. Aladdin Jr. My second musical. My first RCHS musical. A good time. It was an interesting challenge for me, from learning how to sing in front of people (especially as a lead) to balancing my crazy schedule. The Genie brought a lot out of me that I didn't know I had and now I have more confidence in my abilities. It kinda sucks that I got sick for the last weekend and was scared that my voice would give out or something but I feel like I did the best I could. So, yeah. Thanks folks. It's been real.

Aladdin started out insanely overwhelming, from trying to find costumes to fit people that weren't in class to making costume pieces from scratch. Even though the process was stressful, I feel I learned a lot about time management and organizational skills. The costumes and the whole show turned out wonderful and I enjoyed it very much.

It has been one of the most fun, hard-working five months putting this production together. We started back in February with the auditions portion of the musical. Although I wanted to play Jasmine, I was more suited and confident to be apart of the ensemble and a dancer. I took apart of being the choreographer along with Yuki and Shannon. The three of us worked to come up with simple multiple eight counts and made other advanced choreography for the dancers who felt more comfortable for the advanced dances. Aside from taking part of being a choreographer, I had also helped out with pinning the back curtains together with various amounts of fabric. As the production came along, I was really nervous for this production which for me it felt odd. This nervous feeling was a feeling that I hadn't felt in a really long time. Aladdin has been one of my favorite movies along with Jasmine being my favorite Disney princess. I didn't want to ruin the production what so ever. I wanna say that I am so proud of the cast and crew for all of their hard work they have put in over the past five months. Aladdin being my very last musical is bittersweet and sad because I will be graduating this year. As much as I want to cry writing this, I'm glad I get to end my first musical with this particular group. They have became family to me over the months and over the course of my high school experience. Last but not least I want to let everyone know that I am extremely proud of every single one of the cast and crew members who worked on the show (even the late comers). You are all so loved! <3

I had the incredible opportunity to be stage manager for this production; working closely with both the director and cast to make sure Aladdin Jr. was everything it could be and more. From insuring props were made to staging scenes, the work was both eye opening and humbling. I have never been more proud of such a talented group, who included me in their newly formed family. "I just love a happy ending."

This show has been the most fun one we've ever done. Majorly because the cast is made of wonderful people, partially because this show is just fun, and partially because I was more involved than I've ever been. Learning about how to make props, and be in Co-charge of such a big part of the show was interesting, fun, and Kinda stressful, but ultimately incredibly helpful, and one of the best class experiences I've ever had.

This was a pretty fun show for me! Being a part of Theatre 2 made this experience extra special as I got to work in the production for the show. My biggest contribution was definitely the Cave of Wonders that I built with Stella. It took a lot of time and a lot of sewing but I'm really proud of the outcome and I definitely learned some things in the process. (I also sewed the Genie's shirt and it was hell.) In the actual performing side of the show I played the Sultan. I wasn't sure about the role at first but by the time the show opened I was a lot more invested. Since the role is really a character I got to have a lot of fun and just play around with it. (Also my beard was great so...) All in all this show was a lot of fun and despite my insane schedule I'm glad that I was a part of it.

It was so much fun to work both on stage and back stage. I helped make the cave of wonders with Eleni. I must say I am proud of our boy. Being genie was so fun. I love being able to show case my talents in a fun way, like through comedic relief. I love singing on stage and I'm so happy that I was given this opportunity to do it. I'm looking forward to more years with RCHS productions.

I remember auditioning for one of the 'fan favorite' characters within this show. However, I received a role I wouldn't expect. The role in question was, The Villain. That's Right! I was the goatee man of days, Jafar. Playing as this character was surprisingly amazing, and so much fun. Playing as this role, has taught me that playing as the villain is much more fun that one might think.

This Aladdin Jr play was based on the movies of cartoon and now the live action version of Aladdin with Will Smith is the enjoyment of a replay of the same versions since the very first Aladdin was created by Walt Disney himself and surprisingly is still popular. Comments are closed.
