This production was so fun ! I wish I had memorized my lines a bit earlier, but otherwise everything was amazing. I also wish I had been able to perform in all of the performances rather than just two of them. It was also super fun listening to people's reaction to the story. Another thing that was super fun was just going to Lenaea in general. I got to meet so many new people and the workshops were fun. Hopefully, I'll get to do it again.

Thespians and Advance Theater 2 has been a very influential and inspiring experience. Being able to work with an incredibly diverse cast of people who support one another has been an incredible opportunity. The skills I have learned from my experience throughout this are ones that I will use for the rest of my life: planning, leadership, handiwork, projection, etc. I am very grateful for this opportunity and to be able to participate in this class and club.

I really enjoyed being a spectator during class since I was not able to make the time commitment to actually participate for the show. It was my first time doing anything hands-on theater related so it was very different for me to just be in the environment of the production.
The Festival was exciting and felt much like a convention, surrounded by people that do a similar craft to me which allowed my creativity to shine.

"Sorry, Wrong Number" & Lenaea Festival 2023.... whoa. This is all so surreal. It is bittersweet that it's over. I have made so many new connections, I met new people. I have performed harder than I ever have before. I am so proud of Ajani for stepping out of his comfort zone and trying new things. I am so happy for all the people that showed up and TRIED. Because that's all that matters. Performing is fun yes, but doing and pushing yourself to be better is so much more. I loved working with everyone and going to Lenaea in person this year. It was a new experience and something I won't forget. I can't wait to see what's next. I am so thankful to have had this opportunity.

Hello! This is a comment from Thespian Executive Producer Momo (Mackenzie Her). Theater 2 is such a fun experience!!! We’ve all worked hard towards putting together the show ‘Sorry wrong number’, and I genuinely couldn’t be more grateful for such a wonderful group of people! Everyones ensemble work towards putting together that show, along with all our efforts towards preparing ourselves for lenea make me so proud to not only be apart of this class, but to also be a thespian!!!

Sorry wrong number is the first play I have ever done at River City. At first I was very intimidated by memorizing lines but soon I figured out it is not as hard as it seems. I had a great time getting to hang out with the cast, especially at the festival. I think we did very well at the festival, I am proud of all of us.

Sorry wrong number, was my first RCHS play and work with the production. I loved every moment of it. It made me feel like a real star, it was professional and so much fun. I was able to build stronger connections with upperclassmen as well as rebirth old connections with past friends and people i know. The festival was pure wonderful chaos. I was able to speak and meet new people from other schools as well as learn about more about theater and the family/community that comes with it. It made me hopeful for my next 2 years here at River City, he made me think about what I would want to do next year and what i want to do do keep growing for myself and for the people who do theater as well. The whole vibe was great and everyone felt like they really wanted to be there and they all enjoyed the moment, that was given to us. I can not wait to keep going with RCHS productions and see where it may lead me next. Thank you.

Lenaea was overall a fun and challenging experience I'd definitely recommend to any newcomers considering. It definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone and opened me up to new ideas. Watching all the workshopping taught me how to take criticism and really run with it. It was also really cool to see a bunch of new people who are also interested in what I am. Lenaea was awesome, 10/10 would do it again

I hadn't done a one act before so it was cool to get that experience and work with people who hadn't had much theater experience. Going to Lenaea and showcasing the one act was really fun. The community there was very supportive and it was a really nice environment.

Lenaea and "Sorry, Wrong Number" were so much fun. "Sorry, Wrong Number" was done in a very short amount of time and it was fun to see it all come together. I really liked getting to work with a lot of these people on a smaller production. The Lenaea festival was also a ton of fun and I enjoyed getting to see the work that everyone did to submit. I felt like I learned a lot at the festival and I really enjoyed the workshop that I got to go to and the other one-acts that I saw. It was very fun to be in an environment where I was surrounded by other theater people and I loved the environment there. I was also very happy with how our one-act performed and I felt very good about the way that we were able to set up the set. I was very proud of the work that we did.

This production was very fun to make and be apart of! I loved the film noir of it, the people involved, and the script. This class and production has taught me a lot, and helped me build amazing relationships, and theatre experience. The fellow thespians and Mr.Hanks makes me happy to expense anything new, and to be a thespian.

Although being in a play was different from what I'm used to, it was still a fun time performing on stage and learning the behind the scenes pre-production of theater. I wasn't too confident in myself when I heard that I was going to play a role for "Sorry, Wrong Number". It was quite nerve racking having all this pressure on me. Fortunately, I practiced and practiced my lines every day so I could be confident on stage. I can now say to my friends and family that I did work on a play once before.

I got some good experience in accents, a little bit of line memorization, and it was pretty fun too. I have learned that eating food on stage is awful and I hate it. Winning that silver was very rewarding, despite the fact that we deserved gold. Working alongside Mackenzie is always fun too.

This was our opening production of the year and it really started us off on a high note. "Its a Wonderful Life" is my third ever production with Troupe 8919 and will not be my last. I loved the challenge that came with putting this production together in that it functions differently than a typical play. Overall the cast and crew was amazing and I had a great time working with everyone to put this play together.

The production was the most fun thing I've done in a long while. It was kind of hard and stressful, but especially once it got rolling and we were further into production I found it really fun to do. I especially enjoyed actually being AT Lenaea. It was such a different environment of a bunch of different people who I was not used to being around, and it was all around really fun. :)

I wasn't super involved with the one-act, but I loved watching the progression of the show and each of the performances that we brought to Lenaea over the course of January. Everyone improved so much, and it warmed my heart to see how the group came together to support each other in rehearsals and work-shopping. I'm so proud of us, and loved being able to attend the festival. Meeting fellow thespians and seeing them showcase their art was amazing, and has inspired me to bring new creative ideas and energy to upcoming projects this Spring.

It was really fun... I liked how we actually had to leave the school campus for something fun... Being backstaged was a little more than what I've expected and it was just fun... Comments are closed.
